The segment which has been down since 2008..Looking at it, i wonder how the hell are they going to repair that..Until that segment is up, it would be bus/cab/pte driver from Chiayi to Alishan Main Recreation Area..

The limitation of car is probably due to the Sakura Festival which started on the day we came down(15th Mar), lasting for a month..So they restricting vehicle access..But if'm not wrong, u should beable to get a driver thru them.

We took the public bus up..

Instruction from lauya website,

You have to take bus to Alishan at the right side of the front railway station to find the Chiayi Bus station to take the bus up to Alishan and align at ShanHudi station (上湖底站) where is right in front of our door ! Remember you have to buy tickets to FuShan Station but align at ShanHuDi Station(上湖底站,神禾園, 65.4k of Tai 18 Line).
Dont forget to ring the bell when you see the milestone at 65k of Alishan Express to remind the bus driver to stop. The bus will stop right in front of our garden after 30mins bus driving(65.2k of Tai No.18 Alishan Express).
