A Smith machine only allows one vertical path for movement for the barbell , a rack is just a cage which allows a wider range of movement. For the price i would say it's not a bad buy, with the spotting arm, one can use it for conventional barbell training.

Another place to get is from china, unless you have a container or LCL coming in, it's more economical to get from them.

geting from china is no way for me haha. dont have that lobang to get it.

smith machine or a rack suitable for a newbie like me? rack like cant do alot of stuff like Cable Crossover. plus like quite hard to use. haha i saw your photo, you seem like using a rack. btw what is conventional barbell training? try search on internet but still dk what is mean. all i found with conventional is deadlift lol.

i had a multi gym machine but i find that training with barbell is way better than multi gym. mind sharing your opinion?? :D

I think he's referring to stuff like bench press, overhead press, deadlifts, squats and rows. You only need a bench and a decent rack to do those exercises, along with an olympic bar.

A power rack is very useful and as mentioned will allow more "freedom" in the exercises that you can do. A power rack, weight bench and set of weights is a very good start.

The reason i get the barbell holder. The arrival of a new trap bar. :s12::s12:

DL with them today , i can say it really works more of my quad and lesser strain on the lower back. Would be a valuable addition to leg day :D

Nice, but might it take up less space if you were to install hooks on your wall to hang the bars up? The bars could also double up as works of art, hehe...

I did thought of hooking them up , but the ideal of drilling too many holes and the process to plaster them up and repaint them if ever I need to clear the room turn me off. With this bar holder , it keeps them at one corner , wifey is happy enough already it don't look messy lol
