Hey Martxx,
No plans for a touchscreen monitor yet at the moment for the gaming systems, but we'll look into it.
Edit: I like the mx17, does anyone have a frontview picture of it?
Hi there please look into it. Reason being is Windows 8 really is better with touch screen. And cost of a touch screen laptop is not very high. Getting one will be more futureproof.
I was thinking of getting an aftershock pc but putting it on hold till i consider other touchscreen options.
To be honest, I think having a touchscreen is not exactly a future proof option. I've seen people purchasing touch screen laptops, but don't really use the touch screens. On a gaming laptop, I think it makes less sense. My take is touchscreen is more applicable to tablets/ smartphones. Likely you won't be touching your laptop screen on the go like your mobile phone.
i have a ASUS S300. I work without my mouse after having a touchscreen(i am not really a touchpad person) - usually for other machines i rely alot on a mouse.
but i do agree for a gaming machine (if your primarily focus is on gaming) thEn a touchscreen really does not make much sense
We do occasionally get users asking for touchscreen functionality in the notebooks, but to be frank, most of the feedback we get from users is that they either want to go with Windows 7 or they do not feel the need for the touch functionality. (Which may not be as comfortable to use in a larger and heavier DTR system.)
Could be something interesting in the future though.
I'm considering getting a x17 for gaming, but not sure if i should wait for haswell to come out or not...
