I'm also curious to find out how. I'm under the impression that the only card which can do that is actually the POSB Credit Card

Do installment plans accumulate points?

Nope, points will not be awarded for installment plans:
DBS Rewards - Terms and Conditions | DBS Singapore

2.5 DBS Points will not be awarded for charges arising from online/iBanking bill payment transactions, fund transfer transactions, cash advances, annual fees, interest, late payment charges, all fees charged by DBS, instalment payment plans, preferred payment plans and other miscellaneous charges imposed by DBS (unless otherwise stated in writing by DBS).

No cash rebates will be awarded for POSB Everyday Card too:
http://www.posb.com.sg/Resources/posb/docs/cards/everyday/posb_everyday_agreement.pdf

3.3 Awards will not be made for:
3.3.1 instalment payment plan purchases;
3.3.2 internet bill payments;
3.3.3 transactions conducted on contactless or wireless payment terminals;
3.3.4 any other transaction effected via any medium or channel,
electronic or otherwise, which transaction, medium or channel DBS
Bank may in its sole and absolute discretion choose to disallow.

It depends if u spend more than 2k monthly.
If u do, altitude card is better because after 2k, the rate is 1.6miles/$

If u dont, it PM would be better due to $1 rounding instead of $5 rounding. Small difference if u make little transactions but still add up overall. DBS flyer program annual fee is $40+ for unlimited conversion while Citi is $20 per conversion.

Things to consider as well.

Citibank PM has 2 miles/$ for foreign currency spending so that's another thing to consider.

Hi,

I have the DBS altitude card. However it seems that unlike EUropean credit card ti does not provide coverage in case of flight delay / cancellation, bagage lost etc.
Has any card holder already tried to claim for reimbursement of flight tickets purchased with the card?

Thanks

The complimentary insurance for this card appears to be for personal accident only and doesn't cover flight delays and cancellation.

Depends on where you want to go and what class of seat you want.

Refer to this chart for the number of miles. Conversion is 1 DBS Point to 2 miles. http://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/SQMI_OneWayAwardCharts.pdf

Note the number of miles quoted is for a one-way ticket. Return ticket just multiply by 2. If you book online, there is a 15% discount on the miles required.

Do you know if the 15% discount applies to upgrade from Economy to Business class?
Assuming we are upgrading online too.

Other than the rounding, what about the promos/offers locally?
DBS has the FAR thingy, DBS Indulge and Rewards. Which seems to be more 'wholesome' compared to Citi.

FAR is overrated with Raffles Hotel leaving the programme, and it would cost you $200 to get the card. For some, it is still a decent deal, but unless you eat at those places very often, it's not worth the $200.

Indulge is just the programme for restaurants that give a discount to DBS cards. Citibank has a similar programme branded as Gourmet Pleasures.

Rewards is the programme for exchanging points for vouchers or stuff. Given the conclusion that points are best used for miles, the rewards programme is quite pointless.

Citibank also has the CitiRebates program. Bottomline, both have some good point but the overriding factor for most, would still be the miles earning part.
