Another chinese phone for consideration - Vivo Xplay. Good specification. The only thing lacking is LTE support.

Vivo XPlay launched with 5.7-inch 1080 display priced at $486

Like mentioned b4, any phone launched for the china domestic market will not come with LTE support anytime soon since they dont even have a prevalant LTE network in place.

The price, while justifiable based on the specs, but putting into perspective, launch price USD$486 + at least $50 mark up for online sites = ~USD$540. After conversion, it wld possibly cost ard SGD$650. Is it worth spending $650 on what is afterall a china phone and without any form of local warranty?

If can wait till end of mth think 2GB ram version will be released. :D

Might as well wait till MTK-T quadcore models get released. Those who bought those 1st version mtk models during the past 2 mths really sld hammer chest since there probably not increase in price for mtk-t models.

am considering dakele 2 or big cola 2
dakele 2

this is available now at rmb1599. comments?

Not worth the price based on its 720p screen n 1st gen mtk6589 chip. 1080p fhd screen phones are releasing soon n alot of existing models are gonna get updated with mtk-t chips at no additional cost. Hold your horses for 1-2 mths and wait for the newer models to be released and see if the older model prices may drop if u really aiming for those.

I like the Zopo ZP980 and UMI X2. But screen is too small at 5" (for 1080P). You play with the S4 you will know, esp if you are over 40 years old. Waiting for at least a 5.7" 1080P. A new quad core MTK chip @ 1.8GHz or other chipsets wouldn't hurt too. (willing to pay for more)

Not really for phones and you do get more benefit for text, but you get the idea.

CarltonBale.com » 1080p Does Matter – Here’s When (Screen Size vs. Viewing Distance vs. Resolution)

5.7 inch 1080p china phones probably wont be released in the immediate or near future. The way they release phones have a gradual and certain pattern. Release 1gb ram models, iron out bugs then release 2gb models. Release 5 inch 1080p models, test the market then start production on large screen size models. 5.7inch and abv models are not too common in the 1st place so for now 5 inch models seems to be the more or less what manufacturers are concentrating on. But for sure, if 1 big company takes the lead and say they releasing 5.7inch 1080p model, suddenly a whole swarm of other companies will follow suit n do the same.

And their service sucks to the max

no choice....beggars cant be choosers....the problem is since late last year there had been news that a couple of china brands are looking at releasing their phones in SEA region but till now still nothing....maybe they think they are not able to compete with the ifruits, samsengs and ht-sh|ts.....

Yeah.... the ZP980 i read is using the simi Sharp S-LCD IPS screen. So just wait for the Samsung S3 to come out ~ Sep. Late 2013 for the China stuff?

Anyway, the UMI X2 design (backside) really sucks.

I feel some models with 720p and the current 6589 chip are worth buying though. Might want to wait for 6589T if you want a 1080p screen, as most models still seem to lag abit with the 6589.
