moved from the 4S to an S4 :)...Got out of Apple's world after 5 long years...But I have to say, while I appreciate the flexibility of the phone, it is not as refined as my 4S. Animations stutter very badly, transitions suck so much that sometimes there are no transitions! And for all the money Samsung has made, the least they could do is develop a proper sync manager for people on the Mac...but no! Anyway, I sold my 4S to get this...so there is no going back unfortunately. I will try this out for a year to see how it works...

for a new battery, is it necessary to drain it 100% completely and then charge it to full to optimize it?

After using the phone for 2-3 weeks the battery will be "stabilize" thus will last longer... no need to complete drain .. some people do drain off flat 1-2x a month or two..

Sync manager functions?

Android phones have never been a fan of sync manager. The only thing that OEM coy does is to provide their own sync manager which is useless. Cause they also know that Android phones can live without a need of a "wife" all the time.

Android can just sync almost anything without a com. The only thing that they need the comp is the most to transfer of music or videos perhaps photos. Other than that it doesnt requires a com.

The only thing i wish one day is that samsung laptop or com has is an NFC capable with Sbeam. That would transfer almost any file in split secs.

Just like a 4gb movie via Sbeam to another Sbeam device in less than 35secs.

I have no issues with my root set on s3 updating via Kies just not OTA

Lol its the reverse for my Note 2.

Anyway, it's very easy to flash stock firmware on Samsung devices. Just go SamMobile download the official firmwares, and flash via Odin. Very easy to root as well. :)

isnt the GPS suppose to be on all the time
but it doesnt seems to locked and i am in the same location
it just keep searching searching searching .....

i don't on GPS all the time, it will be always searching longer in "indoor" than "outdoor". Some application will be searching till it gets a location ... ie. Foursquare .. maps etc.

anybody notice that the phone always searching for GPS

is yours the same?

It could be some of your app that utilize the GPS is still running in the background. I.e. maps, Facebook, etc.

Fr me I never turn off the GPS but always ensure those apps are closed whenever I am not using them.

No matter what, the GPS will still be toggling between on and off anytime a app needs it and that will draw power for sure even when you not using it.

When we use iphone, we keep the GPS on becos its damn troublesome to on or off it at will.

With android and samsung specifically, with the toggles available at the notification page, turning off and on is just a touch away...so not a issue to off it when I dun need it.
