Nope he is a Singapore local & I feel it's weird too because he choose business and hospitality and half of the courses are business related.

Like that then quite weird..
Although Business this year like very competitive but if worst case cannot get business at least he will get his other choice..

Anyone still waiting for NTU reply???
Appeals start on 15 May but I haven't received any news...
Called them today but the person said I just got to wait...

I am also waiting for NTU reply, seems like not much people received the rejection yet and only a few foreigners received rejection email at mid April so far.

NTU intake / 10th percentile COP
EEE: 606 / 3.47
CE: 89 / 3.6
CS: 246/ 3.54

based on the intake and COP, CE would be harder cause of the smaller intake. Don't forget, there's other ppl with higher GPA waiting for offer or appeal to CE.

IMHO, always appeal a course that is easier to gain entry (If one has yet to recieve any offer from that uni)

If i have to appeal, should i appeal for mechanical engineering or bioengineering ? My course in poly was bioengineering but i think mechanical has more chances to get offer compared to bioenginnering as the annual student intake for mechanical is so much larger than bioengineering. i m a foreigner btw. Any suggestion from u guys?? Really appreciate ur response .

The rejection letter is a template. Don't take it to heart. Just appeal. No harm.

If compare CE and CS leh?
CS is any diploma holder can apply..
CE is only relevant diploma can apply..
Will this affect the chance?
Now based on the intake and COP..
EEE like most easy to get in..
But the crazy math in EEE..:s22:

TAKE IT! haha. well, this is just my personal opinion. there must be a reason you applied in the first place right? Give 10 students in private uni a spot in local uni, 9 of them will surely take it unless the course is not of their interest. I think its worth, you only 'burn' one year in a sense. If you were from a JC, you would be in the same year as the poly people in your batch which is not too bad.

Yea. What was your first choice?

Still think you should give it a shot and appeal though...

My grades are not fantastic, CCD/C ABB so I was really elated to get the call/prior email to send in supporting documents. Interview probably under NAA so I guess extra activities don't hurt! Was rejected last year so didn't rly expect much but seemed like NTU is more lenient as my friend got offered science with CCC/D! Don't lose hope okay!!! I will just keep hoping as well for that A4 envelope..... :b

Errr...he said that he is gonna grad next year.

My mistake.
Means he spent 2 years in a private institution instead of one. Although, the question here is, does he want to start from scratch in smu? Since he did apply for it, doesnt that mean he did have an inclination towards going to smu. I mean, apply must have reason right? Nobody just applies to donate 10 dollars to the school in application fees.

Is your diploma relevant to CE? You can try to appeal.
I think CS stand a better chance if you want to appeal.
