Anyone knows how to replace the fan for this box? Looked to YouTube for video and only found dns-320l. Fan getting noisy.
my NAS is not detecting the HDD, but i have checked the HDD separately and its fine. any solution??
Like to ask for suggestions for data migration/backup from [2x (Standalone) 2tb] to [2x (Standalone) 3tb] disks?
1. use its in-built Dlink Admin-Web Backup function, 1 disk (2tb -> 3tb) at a time
2. use "cp commands" in console environment
3. [Unfortunately I cant choose this option] Format disks with dns320 first, then use desktop to transfer data
4. Or any other suggestions?
Also, any particular difference in 1 folder copying or entire disk copying? (i.e. buffer memory, giving time for HDD to rest before continuing, etc.)
The fastest way of moving data from 2TB to 3TB would be to do it on a desktop PC, just configure the 3TB drive on the NAS first.
Another way is to transfer it on the NAS via remote shell (FFP needed) and send the copy/move process as daemon. By doing so, you don't have to leave the PC running.
I have not use the NAS backup function so can't really comment on this method.
Yea was thinking that the 1st would be the best, but i dont have access to the system.
Hence, I will just rely on the NAS alone. I do have FFP, on 1 of the disk only. Maybe i"ll try to copy the entire FFP on the 2nd disk too, and see if i can do a 1-1 disk copy.
Sorry, what do you mean about "copy/move process as daemon". As in like I'll just run a "cp -pr <source> <dest>" command. or do i have to script the entire process?
Just append the ampersand sign "&" at the end of the command and it will be run as background process, after which you can end the remote shell session. Previously I have timed the copy/move of 100GB data between drive and it took about an hour so use this as a guide or simply leave the whole thing running over night.
Okays, means like shell scripting. But I'll think I'll just let it run entirely, unless I do some sort of checking. Only thing i hope is that the disks don't "GG" on me after read/write for days/hours. Thanks albert. I'll test the new disks then give it a go later on.
Edit :
May I ask if copying of the "ffp" folder and "fun_plug" file to my 2nd disk, and then switching it over to the R-side will allow ffp to work again? Or have to follow the entire process, since I'll only need it for 1 transfer session only
FFP will work as long as it's on the first drive, ie. right-slot.
recently update the firmware.
ever since update, the torrent speed is horrendous.
anyone experience the same thing as me?
i think 1.o2b theres a 2.o2 fireware already?which firmware? 2.02 or 2.03?
plus which torrent'er you are using?
I'm on fw 2.02, transmission 2.73. Speed wise usually depends on the Internet, and torrent health so far.

i got the "latest" from the dlink site. and im not using tranmission cause i do not understand how to install.
tried reading out it few days ago catch no balls.

Oh, i forgot that 2.02 is pulled out, now is 2.03. Didnt remember what was the reason. But anyways, 2.00 should be ok. I dont understand what does "H/W: A1" in the website refers to. Hardware Revision?
But if it is working ok so far for you then try not to change anything.
I'd just briefly read through this guide, which seems like have more images to guide if you wanna try. But take note that some of the files mentioned in the site seems to be slightly out of date. So when you download the packages try to search for the newer ones. Its been quite some time, since i've last installed fun_plug and transmission. Dont recall whose guide i've used.
DNS-320 -FunPlug 0.7 + Transmission
