Quite hard to recommend by just the given brands. The performance of cameras are quite close nowadays. Some maybe better at low noise at high ISO, some maybe better at AF/metering, and some FPS, etc. The list goes on and on.

Do you have a budget and preference? Perhaps you should list a few models and it'll be easier for recommendations from others. If you're a beginner then I suppose you should get an entry range DSLR. Once you get better, then consider getting higher end models.

What type of camera are you actually looking at?

DSLR?
Mirrorless?
Compact?

For compact cameras, the sony rx100 is excellent. For mirrorless, the OMd-5 and sony NEX are great. For DSLR/DSLT it depends on what you need.

Weathersealing and built-in IS: Pentax
Fast AF in live view and articulating LCD and built-in IS and AF Zeiss lenses: Sony
Nikon and Canon: Dinosaurs. Great selection of lenses but who needs 500 lenses?

"night time" in what sense? What situation? "Night time" is too broad, be more specific.

Most importantly, the photos taken at night (scenery and people) must be quite clear.... I am only looking for compact cameras, DSLR is too much for me...

Scenery, you should use a tripod, all cameras will essentially be the same.

People, you will probably use a flash, again, all cameras will be about the same.

Itdepends on what type of digital cameras, and what you use it for ie. more for photography or more videography.

My recommendation for compact digital camera class: Sony RX100.

Why (in my opinion):
1. Super-fast auto-focus. Just turn off the picture preview and shoot away. My jaw dropped at its speed when I first tested it out. Literally instant photo-taking.
2. Superb image quality for a compact cam. Images tend to be on the warm/dark side, but can be easily corrected by exposure or dynamic range adjustment.
3. Non-direct flash by tilting the flash itself. Yes, the flash can be tilted manually to create a non-direct light source onto the subject for a natural look.

Downside? The price definitely. But you are getting a top camera in its class for its amazing features at about $300 more than its peers, the cost-value ratio in my opinion is worth it as this camera will not lose out in its class in the near future and provide more mileage to the user in the long run.

Something that is not worth the extra $$$ is the Sony RX1 which costs about $3.4k at the moment for a compact full-frame sensor camera which may fit in your pocket. Its good to have, but the diminishing returns are too high to ignore.

Some may argue that you can get a mirrorless or entry-dslr camera at the same price or less, however the discussion here is on the COMPACT camera class where cameras are less complicated and easily portable.
