Actually if the price is right, selling Suarez may not be a bad idea .. dont forget his finishing was suspect last season and his goals ratio only improved this season. Coupled with his unpredictable nature and tendency to get into trouble, I think its not a bad time to cash out and use the funds to get a few other good players.

Liverpool have a few in this list....it's not difficult to see why....we have been wasting money for many years and it looks set to continue if BR is not cautious........

True.. and not to forget our win percentage in the league over the last 2 seasons without him is much higher at 55% and didn't include the last qpr match and 36% only with him..

Sell for 50m and can get in two good enough players..

It's hard to say that torres is a poor transfer as the guy has added a FA cup, Europa cup and the Champions League medal to his limited list of achievements in 2 seasons.. While had he stayed, he would have won only the carling cup.. Give the guy some credit, he did do well for us during his time here and have done well for himself after leaving too. The guy wanted to win things, suarez probably wants the same thing too..

I don't thin Rodgers does the buying now but a committee made up of 4 to 5 person including himself which I think it's a good idea, but sometimes the drawback is they may be a bit slower to come to a decision as more people need to agree though. But possibly less wastage but the odd ones will still be there I guess.

Now we are linked to Sunderland's Mignolet, 24 yrs old for 6.5m as reina's replacement as Stoke’s Asmir Begovic is too ex.

Arsenal were reported to be interested too but now it seems they may go for QPR's goalkeeper Julio Cesar instead leaving Mignolet free to us..

Our backup is Jose Mourinho’s first choice at the Bernabeu Diego Lopez, 31. When jose leave, Casillas will retake his place.. :)

Reported Premier League target Kyriakos Papadopoulos has no intention of leaving Schalke this summer, according to his agent.

The 21-year-old Greece international is considered as one of the best young defenders in Europe, having joined the German outfit from Olympiakos in 2010.

Papadopoulos, who made his first-team debut aged just 16, has been strongly linked with Liverpool, whilst Manchester City are also said to have an active interest.

But the youngster's agent is insistent that Papadopoulos is not looking to move.

"I can tell you we have no interest in a transfer away from Schalke at this point in time," Paul Koutsoliakos told Bild, insisting he is just concentrating on returning to full fitness after a knee operation in March.

"Kyriakos is happy being at this club," he said.

"Kyriakos is fully focused on being fit when Schalke start pre-season training in the next few months. He looks likely to be ready for it."

no doubt selling him will be painful but if the club is shrewd enough, they can use it to their advantage.

just take a look at atletico madrid. they always sells their prize assets (sergio,Torres, falcao) but they always end up buying good players.

The result. they came from a mid table club to champs league football next season and touring the world.

Another example is spurs. they sold berbatov to man utd and they got 2-3 profilic players to replace him and shore up their other positions.

They are now top 5, top 6 contenders.

perhaps we need to take this step. sell suarez but replace him with players who may not be as profilic as he was but adds quality depth to the club.

with 50m you can get a 30m + 20m player.

but bottom line is the club needs to be shrewd and smart in the first place.

This idea is excellent but in theory only... we are talking about a club who have a history of rating players like Henderson, downing and Joe Allen to be worthy of close to 20 million each....

Not certain. Valdez has one more year in his contract. Should he stay than he'll go on a free transfer. Barca might decide to sell him now to get some money rather than let him go for free. Barack has to buy a replacement anyway.

Daniel Agger: "I hope he [Suarez] stays next season, he owes the club a lot, they have stayed loyal to him he should repay that." #LFC

Echos what I meant in my previous post :)

Then again, we shall see. This is going to drag for a long while..

He himself knows he owe the club lots for sticking up with him but the situation in England, and their pathetic way to drive him out of that country is borderline racism.

They will make lots of noise if he somehow step on someone boots during match and that itself can drag for a good few mths before they have new stuff to talk about him. If he's the one who elbowed a player instead of Fellaini, thefa will slap another 10 matches on him and the media will have a ball with it.

A few internet sources sate that Suarez has a 50m pounds price tag...

One source is here

Still waiting for official club announcement, don't trust these third party sources though.

It's quite obvious the media is particularly biased against him, but let's just say that irresponsible actions such as biting deserve to be punished. There's no other way to it. Whether or not he receives 1-match ban or 10-matches ban is another story.

Still, he must understand that the club has gone through thick and thin to fight for him. When he's beating around the bush now about his commitment next season, I hope it is because he still genuinely wants to stay and not because he's trying to make a ruckus and get the club to sell him at a lower price.

On a side note... Agger for captain!!

Agger is likely to be appointed vice captain I guess ... after carragher retire, they need a new vice captain to Stevie G and eventually take over the captaincy when Stevie fades away and retire in a couplebof years
