Taxes yes,
but overseas spend? What do you mean?
Citi PM 2 miles/SGD while this Altitude only up to 1.6 miles/SGD.

I'd rather use Maybank Horizon for overseas spend. Same 2miles/S$ and free conversion to krisflyer.

I assume u r paying at AXS.
U must pay at least 5 working days before the giro deduction date- else there will be double deduction.

how is Citi stuck up recently?

I request for late fees waiver after my payment reach them 2 days late. They say will review and get back to me, after 1 week no reply.

Apply for credit card keep asking whether we meet the min income, never meet reject, refer to other thread, they will even tell you don't bother applying.

Must maintain what 5k banking relationship with them else charge monthly fees, ask them go f themselves, behave as if they are so damn great bank.

Didn't work for me. For 2 months in a row I paid via axs and the giro still went through. If it's because the payment wasn't made in time, at least the 2nd deduction shouldn't be made.

The reason is being you are being issued with the Provisional Income Tax Assessment. Even if you make payment, GIRO will still be effected. After the actual Income Tax of Assessment is issued, when you have made payment via AXS in advance (at least a week or more), no GIRO payment will take place.

This is based on previous year experience.

That's what I thought too...

Since I don't mind paying the full tax amount in 1 shot, I guess I should just cancel the GIRO arrangement then.

Think no need to cancel the GIRO arrangement. Just pay all balance in 1 shot , and u are free from GIRO deduction . They will not deduct if your tax is fully paid.

Not to mention that paying in 1 shot may enable you to get more miles - for those paying over 2 K . But yes - quite painful :(

I haven't gotten my assessment yet, so there isn't any way to pay in full. Meanwhile, the installment still gets deducted even if I pay the installment amount :(

And yes I prefer to pay 1 shot because mine + wife's tax combined > 2k.

monthly debit of your savings acct is slow pain.
