No idea how you guys are getting 200+.

I'm using 300 plan, even direct with cat 5e only 90+mbps. Frustrating.

As you recently changed ONT, it will take 2-3 working days for it to take effect.
You will need to reboot your ONT and router.

I was advised to wait until after midnight for the speed to kick in. Nope, even worse now. Recent speedtest result is now only 3mbps on my rig (in my room), 30mbps on my laptop (near my router). :(

Currently on wireless and previous tests were around 30-50mbps, so I'm not exactly sure when it's going to kick in.

Best call 1627

Yup. Going to try again after midnight. About 48 hours plus already. Strange thing is the guy told me it will only take an hour. Before that, M1 didn't even stop my service.

If by midnight no increase, gonna call 1627 already.

2nd appointment yesterday. The guy just provide the new black ONT without taking back the white ONT and RG. The weird is the black ONT still connect to RG in order for my broadband & digital voice to work. I tried to connect directly to black ONT but can't work. Called M1 & notice that they still "link" to my RG. Then they help me to "release" my RG in order for me to connect directly to black ONT. However, my speed still 100Mbps as M1 told me that they are still waiting for Opennet to upgrade to 200Mbps. They said probably will be on Monday. The funny thing is they don't collect back the both white ONT & white RG. I just don't care. If they want back the units then arrange someone to collect...

from what I learned...
1) you need a gigabit router. else you can't get a lot from the connection

2) your wireless also should be gigabit -same with HP.
My HP is 200Mbps but not gigabit - and hence only get 60Mbps

3) use cat 5e for direct connect.. not cat 5 cables

4) your laptop port can take 100Mbps unless u have a new one which has a gigabit port

5) if in doubt - u can call the router hotline - they can help u to reconfig the router.. there maybe channel congesttions etc that slows it down.

6) Finally - only if you are downloading HD movies - the speed of 30Mbps is really fairly fast for web serving - but not gaming... haha..

I used to have 56k modem -- so this is really really fast.

Using a USB adapter for my rig. Kinda old though.

IEEE 802.11b/g/n
Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Wireless speeds:

About 100mbps on wired, cat 6 cable.
For wireless: I try switching channels, turning off QoS. It's been 3 days since installation. Should I be calling 1627?

It's mostly due to ur old network card. As new MB network card will be able to support up to 1gbps.

As other posters say, check your hardware specs if it support above 100 meg on your network port.

As for the activation, it usually takes 2-3 *WORKING* days.

I got my new desktop just less than 1 year ago.
The driver is : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

I could not reach more than 100mbps too. Any help on that?

If 100 or less than 100mbps, meaning ur MB network card can't support more than that

Im on 200mbps plan, but the "status" of the LAN Connection is at 100mbps.
I've checked my Mobo (Asrock H77 PRO4/MVP) and the network card does support gigabit.
