IIMHO asus is over-priced, overhyped and overrated. The motherboard boot time (or post time) is also ridiculously slow.

Asrock is another division from Asustek, which makes more affordable mainboards. Asrock mainboards usually pack with many functions and some even better than the high-end counterparts.

I won't really say Asrock is another division from Asus since Asrock is under Pegatron and Pegatron have now spin off from asus.

But that been said, i would still prefer Asrock over other brands like gigabyte, ECS etc... but that is just me. :D

Motherboards are like organ transplants. Sometimes, it's not compatible with you.

Asrock is really not bad to use.

I currently use one Asrock H61M/U3S3. The only problem I encountered seems to be the Ethernet port which uses Qualcomm Atheros chip. Not sure why upon some reboots the chip fails until I disable/enable it. Will be using a PCI card for the network then.

Asrock is really value for money, if you compare similar features for the same type of board with Asus, you can save quite a fair bit I feel. Quality are overall good too with many features typically.
