Besides price, another 2 noticeable differences are Jiayu is dual SIM while Xiaomi is single SIM, Jiayu's screen is 4.7 inch and Xiaomi is 4.3 inch.

That's why i said Xiaomi seems pricey :)

Here is the comparison on Gizchina:

http://www.gizchina.com/komper.php?target=&kpids=5,4,70

haha now the xiaomi official site selling 2S (since 12pm start selling) at 1699 yuan (16GB) which is 400 yuan (80 plus SGD) more than the Jiayu G4 advanced (1299 yuan according to gizchina), which is 32GB.
however, there is a snapdragon 600 that is in the xiaomi instead of the mediatek one in the Jiayu.

if you not willing to spend over 300 then go for the Jiayu. hahaha

Bro, are you also looking at Umi X2 Turbo? I saw it in the link in your post. I was looking Umi X2 but stock is always a big issue so I gave up.

Don't know why Xiaomi is so expensive but if you are feeling patriotic, you might want to support Xiaomi because I read somewhere that Temasek has a stake in it :)

I wonder why is it so pricey.

I just can't wait for J4 advance version to be official release.

They didn't update the J4A to MT6589 to MT6589T.

I'm looking at J4A or Mi2S. Haha I need small screen.

Yeah, X2 is pretty hot.. Wait a while. Availability will be better soon.

Xiaomi is a more premium brand.

Reporting that my UMi X2 is well and good, the micro USB is working and it is because I didn't know what to expect when it is connected to the PC. There's just the folder as a storage. As for the GPS, the tech support has sent me a doc for the tweaking of the GPS which I am totally unfamiliar therefore didn't do anything.
Just added a 32 GB micro SD into it and seem to run faster.
Tested with antutu and found that the processor is MT6589 and not MT6589T. Wonder if anything wrong with that.

Do all MTK phones use the same GPS chip? Finding the GPS somewhat slow at keeping up with my current location when I'm driving
