so far, everything's ok on my end. it's just a feedback though.

MR's chat support (and Facebook "support") was the one who was able to explain to me about the port forwarding thingie. MR phone support wasn't able to give me any answer. They just asked me to do this and do that.

I had to send them a test comparison that I did with MR and SH.

but one thing i noticed, prior to the static IP with MR, download speed is not so good. BT download is somewhat limited to 200-900kB/s and that file is well-seeded.

Im using private tracker and get around accumulated 6-7MB/s on a few torrents. Im on PURE 100Mbps though. Usually for public tracker, people actually limit the upload speed, maybe u can try the ubuntu torrent to have a good gauge.

i switched back to public IP and download a popular Linux torrent from the following link

openSUSE-12.3-DVD-x86_64.iso at Linuxtracker

screen captured is the speed i am receiving.
i am subscribed to MyRepublic Pure HD plan
connection is wired

ONT > Asus RT-N66U > Desktop (running windows 7)

speed continued to climbed but I didn't wait since I didn't see the need to monitor.

Hello MR, i am having super slow access to weibo website!
Whats happening?
I am damm embarrassed that using singtel ADSL 10mbps is faster then my PURE 100mbps fiber plan. (for china website)
How do i explain to my wife when i told her upgrading to fiber plan will be a whole lot faster.
Honestly i feel very 'lau kwee'.

I feel no point telling her the other websites are lightning fast when the websites that matter to her are slow.
She is pissed at me LOH!

Decided to call tech support as no resolution in sight & this cannot go on like that.
Will be updating this post as a record on my slow access for china website case till it has been resolved

- Last night called & spoke to MR tech support by the name of Mayvika.
- He said he need to get the technician to advice & there is nothing he can do on his side.
- He said he will pass my case to the next day team as he is on the evening team.
- Supposedly someone will get back to me by 12pm today.
17/7/2013
- By 3pm no one from MR called. Called them & this time was Hubert.
- He looked through my case & went to Sina website to try & on his end he also experience SLOW access to china website as well.
- He said he need to feedback this to the 2nd level tech support, who is out on field work, & get back to me by tonight.
- I emphasize to him that i need a solution no matter what AND not able to access china website is not an option to me.

Now awaiting for MR to call me back tonight.

For the record, this morning & afternoon access to china website is ALSO SLOW!!

Pathetic internet connection speed and pathetic support from MyRepublic. Call assigned as urgent but 18 hours are passed and it is not even picked up. I am now regretting choosing MyRepublic thinking it is young, innovative company.

Will not recommend to any one.

I'm using a private tracker too and been having some problems with drop in performance.

Before June PCshow my accumulated download was also around 5-7Mb/s and accumulated upload (when no downloads) is between an average of 1.1-1.5Mb/s topping out at about 4Mb/s (when connected to an SG peer).

After June PCshow the common speed for downloads from the same private tracker tops out at 4Mb/s and upload fluctuates mostly between 100-500+kB/s topping out at 1.1Mb/s.

This whole thing has dragged on for quite some time and I've been mostly rather laid back about it all but after making first contact about a month ago my problem persists.

All I get are categorical denials that anything over at the MR end could have caused the performance drop and the only solution they proposed to me was to get a static IP, but I was perfectly fine with the numbers I was getting pre-show and I never had static IP to begin with.

Write love letters to MR's holy trinity - I have posted their pics & email addresses. Go search.

Followed by terminating payment method - hit them where it hurts them most.
Since they fail to provide reasonable service, withhold payment is the best way to teach them to wake up their ******* idea. Hahaha!

Oh and make sure you STATE the facts of MR service to anyone who is considering fibre internet service.

For the record, youku 1080i video streaming is less than 20 KB/s.

probably now ppl know why they are called Wolf, aggressively promote MR during IT fairs, after having ppl sign up and disappear after IT fair is over, now you don't see them active at all

Never expected MR to follow M1 style where issues like these are concerned. A lot signed up MR for their customer support which seems non existent at the moment
