I'm now on starhub cable broadband 25mbps with hubbing pack, sometimes torrent quite fast, sometimes gotta wait for some time? Haha I'm thinking of whether to recontract as they having the offer that's attractively priced in today's newspaper or switch to fibre broadband?

Of course fibre boardband. Either stay with current ISP or jump

No diff, unless sep I.T show M1 is willing to waive the ONT installation fees. Else wise same prom as now.

M1 fibre signup

Hi, I'm planning to switch to M1 $39 fibre from singtel ADSL broadband. How soon could they come do the installation from the sign-up day? I hope to arrange it such that it'll coincide with my singtel expiry date or thereabouts. And how much do I have to pay upfront for installations fees etc? What's the installation like? Do i have to buy a new modem/router? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Would suggest that you wait until your M1 can work well before cancelling your singtel.
Cancel singtel takes about 5 working days.
You don't want the disruption of no internet right..

Recontract with same ISP will not require to pay ONT installation fee.

im aware that they have a new ONT(EchoLife HG8240) now, when i recontract, do i have the need to tell them to exchange my white one for the black one?
and does it makes any difference in terms of speed or anything else?

White ont can't support more than 100mbps. So they will provide you the black one.

white ont can support more than 100Mbps. MyRepublic & Starhub are using the white NC ont.

Just that M1 is now being an OpCo itself thus can better manage the setup and connection rather than going through NC. Furthermore, black ont provision the phone service directly.

about 2 weeks from the day you sign up. the staffs will inform you the date for the setup and activation. you may want to terminate the ST ADSL after the activation in case any hiccups unless a few days without broadband doesnt matter to you.

Installation fee is $58.85.

Current promo provides the router as well, thus nothing to buy. Just an ont installation charges.
