for pbf exam, there is two section A and B and need to do 4 questions in total

Section A = 4 Ques Choices ( Atleast choose one )
-mostly all essay ques, rarely got calculation ques(if come out also about 7 marks)
-Ques are from chapter 2,3,4,5,6

Section B = 4 Ques Choices ( Atleast choose one )
- Half Calculation , half theory ,
- Ques are from chapter 2,6,7,8,9

--so if u are good at memorising, choose 3 ques from section A, and 1 from section b

--so if u are good at calculation, choose 3 ques from section b, and 1 from section a
note: u still need to memorise theory

Theory:
- Subject Guide is more than enough , Memorise Everything,
when writing in exam, dont vomit word for word, rephrase, add example if can.
-Can self study by yourself, no need lecturer help- i did that

Calculation Ques:
-I doubt u can self study, if u can get a senior/lecturer to teach you the technique it would be much easier+ save alot of time

overall you can self study the theory, +with some help, calculation also can.. even if u choose to totally ignore all calculation, just with theory u can get 60+

not a difficult course

most important : SUBJECT GUIDE!

one more tip : for uol revision choose Jason!! Mark is just :s8:.
is it advisable to focus on theory or calculation or equal out both? Also, so theory refer to banking (4,5,6) and calculation is finance (7,8,9)?

Just to confirm, for those with just 4 foundation units, we take the highest one to pair with the lowest one to derive the marks for one unit right?

Hey guys. I didn't managed to clear Intro to Econs in my 2nd year and I only took 4 mods including Econs. I managed to clear the other 3 mods. So the total mods I've cleared is 6 mods.

Heading into year 3 this coming semester. Is it possible to take 5 new mods + 1 resit?

What should I do? From business. Thanks.

Yah under old regulations you can take 4 new units and two resits. I rmb my last year I was left with 7units. 4 new and 3 resits, school diedie don't want let me take that seven units tgt. But I diedie wanna grad on time, so I told them I wanna withdraw from sim. Who knows they called me up and say they allow. So I took 4 new 2 resits and one self study. The condition is I need to take 6 lessons with them. (initially I wanted 2 self study)

is that allowed by UOL? I thought the maximum units that we can attempt for the exam is only 5 units - including of resist?

You could take IS since it is relatively easy to pass. Furthermore you do not have to devote much time studying for e exams but do take note that there's project work.

I'm surprised how some of you think getting 70 for prelim means actual exam should get 70 too

The prelim is plain bull**** IMHO, it's past year papers to be exact, so if you have attempted those pyp or even David quek miji you should have no problem scoring above 70 for the prelim

And this year msm was much harder compared to previous years in my opinion because alot questions they mix theory and calculations

If u good at memory work then theory. ( Do 3ques frm Section A n 1 Ques frm section B)
I personally like maths so i focus on calculation. ( Did 3ques frm Section B and bull**** my way through 1 Question in section A)

Banking = section A
97% theory(chap2,3,4,5,6)
3% calculation(chap 6)

Finance = section B
50% calculation (chap 6,7,8)
50% theory (chap2,6, 7,8,9)

Chapter 2 n 6 appear both on section a n b

So you cant escape theory and calculation..need both actually. So its whether u want more theory or calculation

I think max to take is 6 inclu resits under new regulations. under old regulations can take more.
