Hey guys. I didn't managed to clear Intro to Econs in my 2nd year and I only took 4 mods including Econs. I managed to clear the other 3 mods. So the total mods I've cleared is 6 mods.

Heading into year 3 this coming semester. Is it possible to take 5 new mods + 1 resit?

What should I do? From business. Thanks.

Sorry you can't take 5 new mods and 1 resit for next year

I believe it's uol restriction and not sim

Because final year you can either take 5 new mods or 4 new mods + 2 resits.

For you case I believe the best way out will be

Take 3 mods each for the next 2 years

I'm surprised how some of you think getting 70 for prelim means actual exam should get 70 too

The prelim is plain bull**** IMHO, it's past year papers to be exact, so if you have attempted those pyp or even David quek miji you should have no problem scoring above 70 for the prelim

And this year msm was much harder compared to previous years in my opinion because alot questions they mix theory and calculations

Totally agree! From my own experience, it is more important to grasp e concept as pyp questions most probably would not be repeated. Once that is done so, I believe you should be able to score decent marks for the actual paper.

Hi guys, I'll be heading into my final year for BSC Business. I have finished my core modules except Marketing and I have taken Audit, ME, MM. So for the final year I have decided to take Marketing and MSM but not sure what other 2 to take.. Any recommendations on modules and lecturer?

yeah that is the hard truth. it is hard to get below 70 for msm prelim :s13:
anyway, good luck to those who are going to appeal

Just to confirm, for those with just 4 foundation units, we take the highest one to pair with the lowest one to derive the marks for one unit right?

highest pair w second highest and so on.

if you have confidence that you should be getting around 70, then appeal.
but in my opinion, msm prelim is way too easy

Prelims are just repeated past yr qns. We are just reproducing the model ans... surely do v well for prelims. But for exams, we are facing new qns. Prelim results are not accurate for us to gauge the score for real exam imho.

up for this. interested to know as well !

Yes you may. Just email in to Student Services for the Letter of Certification will do. I checked on this alr cus I applying for SQP.

tbh don't need to care about the failed marks, what failed by 2 marks 3 marks are just plain bull**** imho

because overall is the marker decide whether student deserve a pass or not

so they put 32 or 23 also fail right, might as well put 32 let student feel "better"

to those thinking of appealing bcus fail by a few marks, I dont think there's much use... bcus heard the examiners mentioning that they review these scripts and decide whether the student deserve a pass. They say they will try to pass students. However, if they feel that you dont deserve a pass, they wont give you that few extra marks. But I do understand that itch of appealing when the difference is by just a few marks. But bear in mind, hopes are not high...

Just to clarify, you emailed Student Services from SIM or from UOL? I am also planning to apply for SQP and start on the foundational programs asap. =p
