NTU/NUS/SMU 2013-2014 Intake

My friend has received a letter that he has been reserved a place at NTU business admin for academic year 2015/2016. He finishes his NS in March 2015. Does the academic year 2015/2016 means he can choose to enter during the year 2016 instead of 2015? Because he wants to go overseas after his NS to take a break. Can someone validate this? Thanks in advance

No. He cannot. Academic year 2015/2016 means that the academic year starts in august 2015 and ends in march/April of 2016. Deferment of university is not allowed except for medical reasons or ns. If he wants to take a break. He will have to reapply for academic year 2016/2017. Which is risky because not confirmed will still get a placing if his grades are borderline for NTU biz.

Does that mean that the only way for him to enter during 2016 is to reapply during the year 2016 itself? Thanks

Hi I am aiming to pursue a business course at a local uni.
Studying at: Singapore Polytechnic Accountancy
5 Sem GPA: 3.04
O Levels: L1R5 8, L1R4 6
I also have experience with a small business and represented my school at POLITE

I am aiming to get into SMU Business Management, and I've heard taking the SAT test will help in your admission.

What are my chances if I'm able to get a high SAT score (2100-200) of entering? Or which other business course from any of the 3 schools should I consider applying?

Appreciate any advice :)

It will be hard to enter any of them with your GPA.
An excellent SAT results might help you.

just wanna ask the 20% 0 levels part for application via poly that one is l1r4 or r5?

my gpa now (5th semester over liao) is 3.79... but my l1r4/l1r5 quite bad.. like 14/17 :(

O-Levels: L1R4 9
Uni & Degree: NUS- Business Admin (Acc) / NTU - Accountancy / SMU - Accountancy

Are there any chances?

GPA needed to go to ntu / smu biz

Hi all :)

Poly : NYP
GPA: 3.71 in Banking & Finance
O levels: 16 (B3 for Emaths, C5 for Amaths, A1 for Eng)

I am looking at:
- NBS (NTU Biz)
- SMU Biz Mgmt


Sadly my GPA of 3.71 is lower than the IGP of both uni that I'm aiming for :(

School (10th percentile, 90th percentile)
NTU Biz (3.74, 3.96)
SMU Biz (3.72 , 3.94)​

My GPA deviates abit from the 10th percentile. I googled & some ppl say that the 10% got in cos of DA or smtg?
I was involved in a CCA in year 1 & represented the school in 2 competitions. However, I stopped going for CCA in year 2 & 3. I'm currently doing an exchange program overseas for 5 months. D'you think this adds value to my application or does it not matter?

What do y'all think are the chances of me being able to make it to NTU / SMU?
My ideal uni = ntu biz. ;___;

My main concern is my GPA being lower than the IGP stated. However it's only by 0.03 so the optimist in me is rly hoping that I can get in! >.<

My GPA 3.75 NYP Business with merit , could not get into any of the uni courses including those lousy ones..

Wasted one year working and finally tried again 2nd time, kana rejected again from all the 3 local unis.

Have to appeal and appeal , finally get into estate (GPA lower 10 percentile of 3.65 or thereabout).

So I think u better apply for those lousy courses like estate or science or whatever with GPA lower 10 percentile of around or less than 3.65 courses
