No wonder cause it's fully compatible with Sony Xperia.

Update it via USB cause Online Update from the TV shown no new update.

Anyone flashed the new W704 firmware yet?

"Improvements over earlier version:

Improves the performance and stability of the Internet TV features."

I've got the 50" and it came with an ancient version and format support was flakey, so I updated it to the latest at the time (09-07-2013). Since then ethernet connectivity has been very dodgy. I try to stream over the network, it frequently disconnects and when I go back into media player my DLNA servers show as offline. Sometimes it can stream for half hour or more, sometimes it drops out within a minute. I've also seen the YouTube app say 'network unavailable' at least once. This only happens on ethernet; wifi is fine

Anyone else get similar issues with 09-07-2013 firmware? Better / fixed in the latest version? Guess the last one must have had problems, otherwise unusual to see another update so soon...

A question for the w704 owners: is the 200hz motionflow working well? I've looked at the W704 side by side with tvs from other brands on the stores and feel that flickering is more apparent. Does this affect your daily tv viewing?

What is the best use of USB ? I found can be using one is enough...

Huh can repeat what u mean?

Usb for.... Usb? Best use is probably for pictures n movie or music only. But for users that have screen mirroring capabilities, they seldom use usb.

Some people 2 usb isn't enough.

Flickering? No such issue. Why would a store wanna playback flicking videos for u to view? I'm okie for daily use, hmm in fact it's good.

Looks like the latest firmware (30/08/13) has finally fixed the Ethernet issue! Just watched a whole movie from my PC without the network disconnecting once :D

While I realise this is break-fix and shouldn't have been required in the first place it's still great to see Sony actually bother to release regular firmware updates and address issues. I was originally skeptical about the whole smart TV thing, thinking it would probably never receive meaningful updates and remain a buggy 1.0 product forever but I've been persuaded otherwise. Nice one, Sony!

I got the 50W704A last night. It's supposed to be DVB-T2 ready. Can this tv receive HD5 without buying an external tuner?
