Hi ladies and gentlemen like the title says am kinda stuck for choice between the 3 motherboards.

Asus RoG Maximus Vi Extreme
Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5
Msi Z87 XPower

And am thinking of pairing them up with their own GTX780 brand, my build is going to be like this.

1 of the 3 Motherboard
Intel LGA1150 4770k Haswell
Corsair Dominator Platinum
Corsair Obsidian Series 900D
Corsair AX1200 Platinum
Samsung 24x DvD+RW
WD VelociRaptor 1TB
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
1 of the 3 Brands
Corsair h110i Hydro
Microsoft Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Am a newbie on this whole DIY thingy, but am trying to learn.
I heard that the some of the rams speed might not be compatible with the Mobo so a helping hand from someone about the speed would be great.

Yes i understand this whole rig is overkill and am not rich. i saved up and worked really hard to make a dream machine for myself, and abit of help from my parents as a Bday and Christmas gift.

But yeah basically i would like you guys the seniors to give me your opinion and why.
If you can tell me if the choice of parts i picked are compatible with each other that would be a plus too.
If your thinking why not water cool the whole thing, well am thinking of doing that in the future but not now

Can't deny, if got the money go for it.

Read reviews on how the the motherboards perform and compare those 3.
Otherwise, state your budget and purpose. Maybe then some of the pros may able to help you save some cost.

Personally, you don't need the 1200W PSU. Anything above 650W is already overkill. HDD for storage just get Hitachi. Case also overkill since not doing any custom watercool. 750D more than enough.

Save money...

Alright first thing first. No doubt you have tried hard to save up that money and furthermore your parents are helping you. You shouldn't be wasting that money everything on a com even though it is a dream machine. What is worse is that you do not use the PC to the fullest.

This video below is the how to build an overkill system. But the end of the clip it tells something meaningful. Their thoughts.

@37:22

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtHDqdo5pR0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

We are not talking about $500 worth of mobo + CPU. We are talking about $600+ to $927 for the asus board.

It is totally unnecessary.

It is only good if you wanna build a PC when you going out to work and save up that money then yes. Not by saving your money and ask your parents to help even though it is a birthday or Xmas gift.

And at the end of the day you can build a PC with the same performance at a much lower price.

If you wanna learn, any com you build you can learn. Don't need to spend so much just to learn. It won't bring you far.

I like Asus ROG. Lol.

Just get a Seasonic 600W+ PSU. Top range is the X series. Unless ya going SLI in future, then a 800W+ of PSU.

And just get a normal HDD is enough.

Other than that, the parts looks fine.

I understand that everyone has a dream build. Lol. Go for it if u want.

Remember asus is paying for premium. Even more so when u buy a ROG board u are paying for the brand also. Ask yourself do you need such a overpowered board because 90% of the things tbh you won;t touch if you are not going overclocking. Motherboard really doesnt make such a diff when it comes to the specific purpose that people use it for unless you are going for overclocking world records.:s13:

As a matter of fact I would suggest you could invest that extra money in a great gpu for games or invest it in pherperials like a gaming mouse or keyboard as compared to a great motherboard. I believe that you primarily use it for games isnt it.

Best post so far.

Newbies must be forewarned to be very careful in handling the CPU - damaging the Intel LGA socket pins is simply too easy for inexperienced hands.

Asus RoG Maximus Vi Extreme
Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5
Msi Z87 XPower

any of the 3 above will just do fine so it will come down to color/theme preferences also I would suggest you replace extreme with formula it is better looking, less expensive and will fit to your future plan in water cooling it same goes for the sniper. if you are going to choose MSI it would be better if you go for the less expensive MPower/MPower Max. for GPU only Asus and MSI have the color theme which has the same color theme for their motherboard.

so if you like

red=Asus Maximus VI Extreme/Formula | MSI Gaming Series
green=Gigabyte Sniper
Yellow= MSI XPower/MPower

As a fellow. Newbie I would advise you not to go so extreme. The 900d is a huge case and heavy, bulky too. i7 not needed unless you doing video editing etc. for gaming i5 is enough. And the mobo won't affect performance unless you doing crazy world record over clocking . For the RAM vengeance pro is a good alternative.and for PSU 600w is ok for a full system with OC. You can always get grade 'b' parts and OC them to grade 'a' performance. So all in all it's up to you. We not trying to confuse you, just saying that no need to go extreme.

Ram speed not a lot of difference in gaming. Video editing then it will help.http://youtu.be/OrrTkbyjDHk
http://youtu.be/dWgzA2C61z4

Mobo not much difference in performance. What matters is the quality of parts if OCing Premium "Gaming" Motherboards - Are They Worth it? ATX vs ITX Z87 Test - YouTube

Psu no need to get a big one as it will be less efficient and waste money.http://youtu.be/LiWThqgFfI4

800D, 900D, 650D is designed to include water cooling since it has the space. Get a normal mid tower, otherwise it will look big on ur table.

so basicly its better if i scale it down ?
kinda lost here alrdy @_@ sry for the burden

Ya loh. No point spending so much on the com itself now. Wait till go out of army first. Go study. Get a job and everyday can start building any com you wish for.

If need a com now then just get a 1.4k setup good thru any games it has right now in market.

The rig with OC should last u around 5 years bah.

No point get a simple one then go poly change another one. Might incur more cost.

My opinion anyway.
