DSLR D5300 & AF-S Nikkor 58mm f/1.4G.

The new D5300 is Nikon’s first D-SLR with built-in wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) and GPS, featuring cutting-edge innovations including the new EXPEED 4 image-processing engine without an optical low-pass filter and an effective pixel count 24.2-million pixels that makes shooting, storing and sharing high quality images easy and fun.
The AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G is a lens that makes the most of advanced optical design technologies long cultivated by Nikon to achieve high reproduction capability of point light sources even at the maximum aperture, and natural depth of subjects utilizing smooth and beautiful bokeh characteristics.

for google maps wise.. this is my practise.
go to the hostel open the google maps app in your ipad so that they are in your history/cache. move around the map if you plan to visit a few places

once you are outside, all you need is a gps signal no data needed :)
very very useful especially when you are lost which happens to me most of the time.. i just need a bearing or where i am most of the time

oh i tried it on Android.. my phone just couldnt get GPS signal.. so yah. my iPad is more trustworthy.. jus make sure you have enough battery in your device.. dun wanna go out of juice

and for checking in.. some eating places do have free wifi.. so do tourist attraction.. jus look out for them.. of course there is this concern of logging into a public wifi service..
Apple devices are aGPS, no GPS built in :(

Reason for SIM is I don't want to be searching for signal every time and not be able to shoot in peace when I want to. :(
