Is there such a thing as your static IP is tagged to your home line? So if I relocate my VQ fibre to another house, will the static IP address change or I can continue to use the same static IP address?

If your new house is on a different exchange, your IP address has to change :)

Oh, so it's actually dependent on the exchange's location. I found it quite peculiar but can probably understand the limitations of the infrastructure.

We upgraded the speed of our plans right before COMEX - there used to be a Fibernet 300 - No Contract plan before. This was bumped to Fibernet 400 in the pre-show period (late August).

Don't mind me asking, when was this Fibernet 300 - No contract plan introduced? Was it a speed bump from 200mbps to 300mbps under the same price plan? If it is , are the customers necessary given an upgrade from 200mbps to 300mbps automatically?

If i remember correctly it was introduced in March of this year. It was indeed a speed bump from 200mbps to 300mbps under the same price plan - and we did upgrade all our existing customers on that plan for free :)

Ask around fellow subscribers in here and in Fibernet forum. No one gets left behind whenever there is a new plan with speed bump up, including existing subscribers automatically get bump up.

Looking back, it seems SingTel partially copied this approach after ViewQwest spearheaded the "speed bump up for all subscribers" approach.

Hi,

Am thinking of signing up with viewqwest. Do I need to look for a referrer to sign up? What perks will I get when trying to find people to be referrers?

Both of you (new sign-up and referrer) will get a small one-off rebate.

It is small so that there will not be abuse, untruthful recommendation and touting just to "take advantage" of the referral scheme.

ISP "A" also have referral program but somehow one of their guy starts to badmouthing ISP "B" with blatant of lies that proclaiming certain bad points as a fiber provider happens to ISP "B" but not "A" subscribers. However, the truth is the opposite.

One can badmouth other ISP, but please back up with facts, or at least partial truth that is generally recognized if the original source is hard to find so that one at least is not evil minded with some hidden agenda but rather confusion that requires clarification.
