Went to LV to see the belts.
Not expensive at all.
Friends told me LV is so passe and said many ppl who buy LV think they have arrived but in actual fact everybody can afford it cos its cheap.

They would rather spend money on Pierre Balmain, Dior Homme, Ermenegildo Zegna, Saint Laurent and Givenchy

yup most people can afford, but are they generous enuff to spent on it ? just like fine dining few huindred one meal also alot people can afford , but who will spent on it unless special event?unless v rich ppl who is peanuts to them:o

May I ask for advice on the LV Initials belt in Damier graphite(black/grey checkered) or the one in Taiga leather (black) more suitable for jeans that are dark blue or black ?

Also another concern is that will it go out of shape easily ? Example the back when we sit down , have a belt that goes out of shape in 1 or 2 wear..
Understand every belt will/ should due to wear and tear but for LV will it be easily out of shape ?:o:o

oh my past belts all went out of shape.
those belts eventually split open cos the design didnt have stitches at the sides
worse if the reverse side is suede cos will be stained by sweat and hard to remove.

so i dont leave my belts hanging on my pants behind door hooks.
someone told me you should remove the belt from your pants after use and let the belt hang by itself on the hook behind your door.

something like what the shop does when they display their belts.

well there are fake H belts around.
but if seen and handled the real deal can easily tell a fake.

on the other hand LV has alot more fakes for its range and are more difficult to tell the fake from the real deal.

some ppl are like this.
they do not want to spend on a brand when its range have alot of fakes which are difficult to tell.

in addition LV is very common even at the wet market you see LV bags.
its always the LV bag, wallet or belt.
Monogram or damier.
whether real or fake.
so some ppl dont want to spend on LV cos so common.

LV status has become just like Prada, Gucci, Ferragamo and Fendi.
some ppl dont want to spend on something but like so "yesterday"

oh its the same LV, Gucci, Prada, BV.
anything else new??
thats what they think.

so from what i see, some of my friends (guys and gals) avoid these brands and would rather spend their money on Pierre Balmain, Dior Homme, Ermenegildo Zegna, Saint Laurent, Cartier or Givenchy.

something different, something away from the mass market and crowd.

as for BV, well i do think their designs are ugly.

I still l prefer LV designs which just have one "LV" logo similar to YSL just that "Y" logo.

bags wise I go for LV, simply because its very durable.

for mens wallet, I prefer BV, because its artisan style and design wise more on the quiet side... so travelling to certain countries like Indonesia, Vietnam or Thailand, its not easy to get ID by robbers unless they know the brand

WAH... Suddenly this thread is very busy.. I like. lol

really ah? changi or other airport no LV ? didint really go notice . is incheon airport sell cheaper?

The only LV shop in an airport is in incheon.. The shop sells it cheaper than the one on mainland as it is duty free.. U can buy from mainland and claim duty.. so it all comes back to the same price. But it is not cheaper than Paris or Europe I believe.

All belts will go out of shape if not taken care. Normally it adheres to the shape of the waist.. But I normally roll it and keep it stored in its dust bag. that is the best way I think to store belts.

Me thinks there are too many brands and too many users.. so no brand is so called unknown.. There are some which is not so common here.

But then again, if someone wears something not common. Nobody knows, nobody cares than maybe those who want to show off what they wear would not be able to... here lies the conundrum.. If one wears something that everyone knows, then it is yesterday.. but if someone wears something so expensive, that no one knows then no body care.. then what to wear?

har har har..

Personally, I think we just wear what we like.. be it cheap or expensive, be it LV or hermes or even crocodile.. it does not matter.. wear what we like.

Maybe we are all too preoccupied with what people thinks... Its like if I spend $1000 on a belt, people must go WOW! then I feel proud. If that is what we think... then we never be happy cause no one would go and say wow! that is an expensive, exclusive, super duper wonderful belt. LOL..
No matter how we shove the buckle at their faces..

I have quite a few people (mostly Eurpoeans, Americans, etc) come up to me and say they like my bag, belt, style.. I just quietly say thank U and try to not let it get to my head.

LOL, there was even a a time when I was in Paris (September) in a Longchamp shop and when I was buying a bag, a few of the shop sales girls say that they just love my bag.. (they say they are allowed to admire other brands of bags.. lol).

as mentioned. different brands, collections, designs n styles appeal to different group of people.

LV neverfull probably appeal to mass market due to its low pricing and allow ladies to start their LV collection. moving up would be either a speedy or Palmera.

agree. just came back from GuangZhuo. visited their 手表市場 n top grade fake product markets, its damn difficult to tell the difference.

I buy base on design and my personal taste.

some lv product design is nice some is ugly to me. same apply to all brands.

buy base your preference and not others people view on the brands.

is your money not other people money.

you don't live to show to others, you live for yourself.

usually I won't care how people view my purchase

I buy what I like
