beside normal windows OS file, you need to consider \
1. Windows.edb file (search index file that can grow to 10+GB
2. Hibernate file, can consume around 4GB depends on your memory

My Samsung ativ smart pc pro consume 10GB by both which i disable and regain 10GB while many says they even cost hundred of GBs, better scan your harddisk using windirstat

I would prefer to get the T100 because the the full windows experience. RT is good but apps would need to be to a level that I am comfortable with. Having Android now

$599 is so much more expensive than in USA. It's really not worth it if it costs that price for just a mere 32GB. Maybe I'll just consider the TF701T instead...

Windows 8 and Office makes this product tempting though... >.<

Just to note that the ATIV Tab 3 is using the previous gen atom processor. The newer processor is reported to be twice the speed of due the better architecture (Slivermount?)

If it is 32GB, it definitely not worth it as usable space will be very small... Will be reconsidering between this and the nexus 7 2nd Gen.

Another device you can consider is the Acer w4. (8 inches)

I am aware of that. I am looking for low price tablet for my school, doesn't need any high performance which is value for money
