so now ireland got martin as mgr, keane as assistant...

Will be an unique combination...

Both had played for Forest under the management of Brian Clough
Both had won Champion League / European Cup in their playing career.
Roy went to play for Celtic after leaving MU... Martin was Celtic manager for a few seasons and left Celtic the season that Roy arrived and the manager at that time was Gordon Strachan ( current Scotland manager)

Both had managed Sunderland and left for different reasons. Roy played football for Republic of Ireland while Martin played for Northern Ireland....
Roy is reknown for making his point of views loudly.... he can be at loggerhead with a cockroach for crossing his path before stamping it to death... just like Robbie Savage. while Martin is famous for his animation on the touch line..... definitely will be an interesting pairing.

I heard my beloved Felliani got sent off ;) so did he step up this time round or still walking back? Missed the game....

He was OK. Made a number of interceptions and tackles, found the angles to make some good short passes. However I don't think he was really "tested", as SOC was really lightweight.

Having invested my time on this morning game. My AAR(after action review) for Fellaini.
A) Regaining his confidence
B) Able to keep pace in most of the game. Partly is an UCL and not the blazing speed of BPL, particularly in Man Utd's style
C) made some good interceptions and assisted in some forward play
D) The two yellow cards, I deem to be harsh. In BPL context, just a mere normal foul
E) Can be better

Hope you fap after reading my 'analysis', cos I am with you, fap much about him before he joins. But slightly different, I still fap about him and keep faith with him...:D:D

Premier League: Fulham's Sascha Riether apologises for stamp on Adnan Januzaj

Fulham defender Sascha Riether has issued an apology to Adnan Januzaj for his stamp on the Manchester United youngster at the weekend.

Riether became first player to be retrospectively charged by an FA panel for his challenge on Januzaj towards the end of United's 3-1 win at Craven Cottage.

The German defender stamped on Januzaj's ankle in the last minute of the game, although the incident was not seen by referee Lee Probert or his assistants.

But Riether will now serve a three-match ban after accepting a charge of violent conduct, and he has apologised to Januzaj via his Twitter account.

He wrote: "I want to say I am sorry to Adnan Januzai. It was very unlike me and I can only say that frustration got the better of me.

"I also want to apologise to my team-mates, fans and everyone at the Club, for the ban incurred following Saturday's match.

"I will accept the consequences of my actions, and hope to put it behind me when I return.

"I want the fans to know that I will be working hard to stay fit and will be ready to continue fighting for the Club as soon as I am able.SR"

In a pilot project, an FA panel of three former referees - Steve Dunn, Eddie Wolstenholme and Alan Wiley - will make a ruling on what they believe the official would have done had he seen it.

For an FA charge to follow, all three panel members must agree it is a sending-off offence. In the instance of Riether, the panel were of the unanimous decision that it was an act of violent conduct.

United boss David Moyes, speaking just before the FA confirmed the charge, said: "I hadn't seen it until after the game. It's a bad stamp and it does look deliberate but that's for the referee to sort of deal with on the day...or they look at it differently. It's over now.

"But I do think Adnan needs a little bit of protection or we are going to find he's getting kicked up and down. I do think he deserves a little more than he's getting at this present time.

"He gets kicked up and down in training every day and he gets on with it. He's learnt from the good professionals to get on with it and accept it. He only needs to look at Lionel Messi. He's the best at getting up. We hope Adnan, and I'm not comparing him to Messi - we hope he can react like Messi - but he does need protection.

"It's not a case of asking for protection. It's up to the referees to do what's right. But we will never ask for it."

Javier Hernandez still needed at Manchester United, insists David Moyes

David Moyes insists Javier Hernandez remains part of his plans after the striker's future at Manchester United was called into question.

Hernandez appeared to endorse comments on Twitter made by his Mexico striker partner Carlos Vela, who suggested he should quit United for more regular first-team football.

The former Guadalajara forward has made only one Premier League start this term and despite scoring three times in the two games prior to Saturday's top-flight win at Fulham, he was an unused substitute for the clash at Craven Cottage.

David Moyes talks ahead of Manchester United's clash with Sociedad. in the Champions League.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are on a hot run of form in the United attack but Moyes, speaking ahead of United's Champions League clash with Vela's Real Sociedad, shrugged off suggestions Hernandez might be moved on.

"We need Javier Hernandez; he's very good for us," Moyes said.

"He's scored a lot of goals over the last few years and continues to do so, so we'll continue to use him."

Vela had been quoted as saying over the weekend that his fellow Mexican may have to consider moving on, insisting there would be a host of clubs interested.

"He is one of the best finishers in England and deserves chances under the new coach.

"We need Javier Hernandez; he's very good for us. He's scored a lot of goals over the last few years and continues to do so, so we'll continue to use him."
David Moyes
"If he plays regularly he will score, so I don't totally understand why a player of his quality has not played more games.

"If he doesn't play regularly he will need to think about leaving.

"You always want to succeed at the biggest clubs - but if he is not given the chance there will be big teams in England and Europe wanting him."

Moyes and keeper David de Gea are in total agreement that United cannot afford to take Sociedad lightly.

United go into the match with seven points from their three Group A outings, and requiring just one more win to reach the 10 Sir Alex Ferguson always felt was enough to secure a knockout berth.

Given their opponents have yet to muster so much as a draw on their return to the elite competition after a 10-year absence, the task appears straightforward.

Moyes and De Gea are united in their belief looks can be deceptive.

"I certainly won't take anything for granted," said Moyes.

"I have a lot of respect for Sociedad, and we will have to play well on Tuesday if we are going to get those 10 points which will get us over the line."

De Gea added: "It's very difficult to play at the level Real Madrid and Barcelona are at.

"They might not be at the top level yet but it's obvious Real Sociedad have been playing great football over the years."

Hm.....that was before this morning game. So after a stalemate, hope our gaffer remains his position. Little pea is good for Man Utd standard from my point of view. But Bebe...Ando...may have other says.:s13::s13:

Champions League: David Moyes rues Manchester United misses against Real Sociedad

Manchester United manager David Moyes admitted his side had missed a glorious chance to take control of UEFA Champions League Group A following their 0-0 draw away to Real Sociedad.

Robin van Persie struck the post from the penalty spot, having rattled the frame of the goal moments earlier after stepping off the bench, while Javier Hernandez somehow put the ball over the bar from six yards out early in the second half.

Midfielder Marouane Fellaini was dismissed in the closing moments after a second yellow card following a series of petty challenges, with United remaining top of their section, a point ahead of Bayer Leverkusen who also drew 0-0 with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Moyes' men travel to Germany for their next European fixture before ending the group phase at home to Shakhtar, and although they remain in control of their destiny, the Scot accepts they should be two points better off.

He told Sky Sports: "It shouldn't have been a draw, it should have been a victory, we played well enough to win the game, made a lot of chances, and we missed a penalty as well.

"It's a good position, it's where we want to be, but we should have had three points tonight and made it a lot easier."
David Moyes
"When you get opportunities you want to take them. Those opportunities tonight would have made sure we were well clear at the top of the group, but we're still in a good position.

"It's a good position, it's where we want to be, but we should have had three points tonight and made it a lot easier.

"We go to Leverkusen next and then we play Shakhtar Donetsk at home, so hopefully in those two games we'll make sure we qualify."

Moyes would not be drawn on the dismissal of Fellaini, but felt his side were not always favoured by referee Nicola Rizzoli.

He said: "I thought it was a difficult night all night for all the Manchester United players. They didn't get many decisions, but the referee has to do what he sees."

Having selected Hernandez ahead of Van Persie - possibly with Sunday's clash with Arsenal in mind - Moyes was keen to defend the Mexico international following his shocking miss.

He added: "I think it bobbles a little bit and he just gets underneath it a little bit."

Should have, should have. However, we need to give credit to SOC for putting up a good fight and gained their first point in this season UCL. The 'benevolent' of me say:" move on and put our attention with BPL leader on this weekend..":D:D

Champions League: Ryan Giggs confident Manchester United will progress to knock-out stage

Ryan Giggs remains confident Manchester United will progress to the UEFA Champions League knock-out stage following their 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.

David Moyes' side could have taken control of Group A but saw Robin van Persie hit the post from the penalty spot, having hit the woodwork moments earlier, while Javier Hernandez somehow failed to find the net from six yards out with the goal at his mercy.

Marouane Fellaini saw red in the closing moments and United player-coach Giggs, who was making his 950th appearance for the club, felt they were unfortunate not to claim a rare victory in Spain.

Giggs told Sky Sports: "It was a good performance and I was just disappointed we didn't get the three points, we had the chances and on another day we would have won the game.

"It happens, you probably don't see Robin and Chicharito miss two chances like that in a game, but it happens, they are two great goalscorers, on another day they go in and we win the game.

"We had a great chance to open up a big lead, but we're still top, it's still in our hands and we always fancy ourselves at home.

"We showed some good stuff and on another day we would have won. I think we controlled the game and I think it was good preparation for a very good Arsenal team at the moment."

I am inclined with Giggs. We may not be back to the prime, but we will go through. Chinese saying "烂船也有三寸钉":s13::s13:

didnt watch the match but from the reports here, seems like young is shiet again, kagawa's best role is in the hold, along with rooney and januzaj. now thats a problem.

also seems like fellaini is starting to adapt to the united way while the red card for him seems abit harsh.

hope to see him be the box to box player he is at everton.

hahaha!!! Well good to hear that. In fact I fap at him because of the disappointment I had when I see him play....I'm one of the few here who supported the idea of him joining us. In fact in the first game I was still rooting for him but the anger when I saw him playing against City pissed me off so much....walking back...and still give a look like the defender did not defend well.....well as long as he is a Utd player I will still support him but if he is still walking I will still be pinpointing him....lol!!!

Just wonder why Keith Gillespie was used as part of deal for Andrew Cole. If he remains, 1 more class of 92.....:s11::s11:
