Simple... Use 2wire or 7000, u get only 50-60mbps max for wifi connection. It's a huge difference.. Lol

exactly.. especially when the neighbours use good quality routers which are able to have good coverage, they will eat into my air space.

My wifi channels now are mostly congested in the day, with multiple APs and many many overlapping APs. Only at night when they switch off their devices, i have a cleaner channel.

Also, the best speed for wifi performance for 7000 is only 20mbps, and no one around is using 5Ghz. It makes more sense for me to use 7002 as i can hop on to 5Ghz and reach a better speed close to 100mbps.

Old and recontracting customer difference? I recontract before CEE and was offered the dual band but when I got home I realised its 7000 on contract. So I called in and they offer to change it. Now waiting for them to come next week.
Now all singtel fibre plans regardless of speed is given the new dual band modem.

As i called in to enquire if this is true, they say this is true for new/recontracting customers who signs up during this CEE 2013 period.

Those old customers with miotv using 200mbps fibre entertainment bundle will not be entitled to change to the dual band. [indirectly, they make us LLST]

I feel so disgusted for being treated like a prisoner.

Yes, I could pay for asus routers but why should I even make things easier for singtel right?:D

Get 7002 if you Have the chance

The wifi bandwidth of this router is amazing with a for sure speed of above 50mbps, If Singtel offers you this router do not miss the chance..... Should be free for 200mbps-500mbps depends though

Aztech 7002 for 200mbps+

No, it was/maybe still is being given to people who subscribe for a 200mbps+ fiber broadband plan. You might get a chance of getting a 7002 if u subscribe with them, you might need to ask before doing anything just to confirm. I do not know if they are still giving it out

Isn't this meant for ADSL, can also be use for fibre? Thought they (Aztech) are going for which is a variant of GR7000.

It can be also used for fiber, but not a direct connection, you require an ethernet connection from your ONT to the router, and thus from there you can receive gigabit speeds. Use the ethernet cable that Singtel would provide you with.... Then your wired connections would be amazingly fast.

Amazing? How about this one:
...

I am on 100Mpbs. With the issued PACE, my wireless give me this for my Acer laptop in the bedroom @10.40 am:

This is a snap shot. Actual speed fluctuates all the time...
Bottom line is - factors other than router count.

i don't think you can use it since the firmware itself is customised with settings just for singtel only.

however, you can try changing the settings to the starhub one by access the diagnostic console of 7000 router. Not sure about the usability though..

is there any stock firmware from aztech or this model is exclusive to stinktel?
