100hz is in the specs. Smoothing is just a matter of turning on the motion control engine. Color saturation can be adjusted. Usually for colors most importantly is whether accuracy can be achieved. For this, just need to read up a couple of reviews with color calibration to confirm. For lg panels, suggest reading up avs forums to check for backlight bleeding complaints.
The problem is graphics still jitters even when motion enhancement is turned on on the Sony model, and AFAIK backlight bleeding issue only occurs to those edge lit LG models, which is why i am an advocate of direct LED backlit TVs, whether or not with local dimming...

thanks for the recommendation moneyface...can i get the sony tv from other best denki branches apart from vivo?
any second option (lower price) if ever like lg.. are you able to advise on the 42f5500 of samsung?
Nope Samsung screen may look bright and 'nice' but as compared to most other brands they are simply horrible and off colour. These F5xxx series are pricey and nothing good, apart from the smart tv functions.

For your info, I own 2 Samsung 32" LED TV 5 series right now and just upgraded 1 of them to this 42" Sony LED TV only to regret why not buying SONY earlier :)

The standard TV stand can also be used as wall mount without need to buy additional bracket. It also have in depth setting menu for sound and picture (equalizer, sound boost, etc), not like Samsung or LG which can only change the brightness, contrast and color.

It also has DVB-T2 tuner, and as far as I know it is using backlight LED too. I used to watch only Channel News Asia and Channel 8 news before but now also watching movies due to the beauty and quality of its picture.

To my surprise, although the TV speaker only rated at 8 Watt ea but the sound is much more powerful and nicer than Samsung which rated at 10W ea. You can feel at hand that the remote control is better made too if comparing to Korean brand.

Sorry for writing too much as am too excited to have bought this TV and discover its superiority over Samsung. Samsung and LG sell more in the market maybe due to cheaper and marketing ??

You definitely won't regret it, worth to pay a little more to get SONY. Seeing is believing, I would suggest you to visit a friendly retail shop, play some movies and look at the tv setting menu to discover how Sony pay attention to the details setting for better user experience.

If you don't require 3D, you should really compare between LG 42LN570T @ $799 and Sony KDL-42W674A @ $849. I will still go for LG between the two as LG really has a working motion enhancement feature and better (IMO) graphics processing as they noy over sharpen or oversaturate the colour on screen, making images looking more realistic and naturally fluid. LG smart tv function also comes with DVR function as well as much better smart tv ecosystem. More details on my previous post.

The LG 42LN570T now selling $769 at Courts Toa Payoh... But in terms of chioness, I think the Sony looks better.

if you guys are firm in getting a tv, but undecided which brand and model, my advice is to get it at courts. courts has a great aftersale service, whereby they allow you to change or even ask for refund within the 1st 10 days of delivery.

or if you guys are at the outlet, just get the promoters to show you some FHD videos or high detail still image on the models that you are interested. these promoters have all these tools ready.

Beg to differ... Their products rarely goes below the price of its competitors... :o
