Well, you need to book well ahead, not 15 days. Secondly, I don't ever need to fly to the US, only the EU. And getting 2x F seats between FRA and SIN has always been easier for me than 2x C seats on this route.

Good luck dealing with US routes though, sorry I can't help...

Don't you know that LH only releases F award to star alliance partners 15 days before the flight, SQ including? You can't book earlier if you wanted to. That's why I asked how you managed to do it. Also I have never seen two LH F on the SIN-FRA route available for award booking before.

I've never burned KrisFlyer miles on non-SQ flights. But I think LH might be your best bet and redeeming in F is usually easier than C.

As mentioned I have never used SQ miles on non-SQ flights. When using LH miles I have been able to get F seats much more easier than C seats, hence the suggestion to give that a go.

If LH is tight with releasing seats then I'm not sure what else there is to try. US carriers to Europe and SQ from there, or hopping over to Toronto and Air Canada somehow?

I find that it's better value to use KF miles for SQ flights only. You also get the 15% online discount that's not available if you want to book with other airlines. e.g. 1x economy class ticket from SIN to LAX/SFO on SQ is 59,500 miles return (plus tax) inclusive of the 15% online discount. Booking the same on a partner airline would cost you 110,000 miles (plus tax). Business class is 136,000 miles (discounted) vs 195,000 miles.

I personally did a 59,500 miles trip to SFO earlier this year, and intentionally booked a 12-hour connection in ICN so I could take their one-day transit tour and had a walk around in Seoul. Even though it was only an economy class ticket, the value of the miles worked out to be around 2.5 cents per mile. For the Altitude card, this worked out to be a 3% value obtained for every $ spent (at 1.2 miles accrual rate).

Exactly the reason why I treasure miles so much over small rebates. :)

Now imagine how this works out when you're clocking up 4 miles/$...

not sure if this has been asked before, but for the Priority Pass membership, are there any annual fees?

May I ask if there is a "points" statement for DBS..

Frequently, I don't know how come my spending (say it is $5,000) and yet my points is not as expected (e.g. $5000 should give me 3000 points but I get about 2,000 points etc).

Miles easily > cashback once you can get more than 2.5% value out of SGD spent.

But for frugal people, might have a problem converting points to usable miles within the expiry. Citibank does have unlimited expiry, but it comes with the risk of miles conversion rates and stuff.

You can go on to DBS Rewards website to check your points.

If you think you are not getting the points you should be getting, you should call them to clarify.

Thanks bro. I sent them an email.

Actually I can see what my points are. I just don't know how each month points are counted and then sometimes got deductions and expiry. And then if I paid for the annual fee,
I dun know exactly when those miles are credited as everything is lumped in one number.

Was hoping for a points statement. Ha.

Let see what their reply is

It's hard to keep track especially when they have tiered rewarding system based on local and overseas spend, on top of minimum spending tier and more than minimum spending tier.

Perhaps, they can provide you with some formula.
IF they do, remember to share here! =)

There isn't any more minimum spending tier. It's pretty straightforward - 3 pts per $5 spend, credited when the spending is posted, and another 2 pts per $5 for overseas spending, credited at the end of each statement cycle.
