I think your statement not fair to Malaysians. Lots of Singaporeans go into Malaysian everyday, the criminals don't target by race or nationality but opportunity. Social problem wise every country have their own so no need to criticise others.

Back to topic for the price range 150 RM they can give you Italian fabrics a bit imposible. Ignore the selvage, you will be lucky if you get pure cotton for shirts and a good wool blend for pants. Not saying not good but for the trouble of crossin the causeway, I would seek a bespoke service rather than a budget tailor who probably outsource to Indian immigrant tailor.

Malaysia do have an import tax for fabrics. And vice versa. I was slapped with GST because the cloth supplier forget and declared full value which was less than $400. courier service charge a hefty admin charge for paying a few tax dollars on my behalf.

Ok lar no point since u doubted credibility of my words. Just went in to make 2 pants today. Okay the material chosen may not be the top tier, but as a middle tier its considered the best and for a price ard RM150-200 its surely VFM. Quality is not bad color wise texture & everything. And the material is italy. And they dont outsource. I ve known the tailor long enough tat its definitely not sme indian immigrant tailor.

As for malaysia problems, believe me im there long enough to know by first hand experience. Have u ever been chased by parang before? Or ambushed by a group of teens out for a quick fix to their drugs? Maybe u are lucky never seen heard or experience these before. Just be vigilant and alert.

I'm trying to make something gold n black or somewhat along those colors. Usually I wear this to Dinner. Or rather during F1 season. During the Johnnie Walker events. Revolved around gold label u see. Black to look sleek.

KS I remember him having a JW sent to him. I asked him if have any inspired feel for JW. He says probably.

Wondering to get it done for F1 this year a not.

What is the average cost for his service n all?

I'm trying out Dylan next then I supposed it will be Kevin there after.

Just because the selvage says 100% wool and Made in Italy doesn't mean the cloth is.

All tailors outsource their work. Do yours cut the cloth in his workshop or sew all the garments himself or in his own inhouse workshop?

Well if you enjoy your JB tailoring experience pls kindly post fitting photos. Take it as helping your tailor bring in more business :)

What is "something black and gold" you need to tailor? A suit?

I suggest you buy a set of onyx inlaid with gold studs and cufflinks. Accesories to go with the theme.

Anyway, today's Urban featured Berluti on their bespoke suits. $7k euros I think or $12k SGD. Anybody with the spare cash can try them out. Wonder in designer labels speak, Zegna or Berluti?

I believe Zegna is definitely more value for money. It's a fully integrated business right from the sheep to garment. Zegna's factories manufacture for a whole range of top-end brands like Gucci and Tom Ford. Berluti, iirc, is made by a French maker (also excellent), and the suits are top-notch, but I think it's hard to compete with Zegna for suits (if branded is what you're going for). Likewise, Zegna makes shoes but will never really edge Berluti because of the years of expertise and training Berluti's in-house shoemakers have.

:)

Yes, he draws and cuts the cloth in his shop & also has his own sewing machine in the shop and also outsource to locals with trusted worksmanship for the sewing work. This tailor operates with his wife and honest couple. I wont anyhow advertise for jb tailor anyway, its up to people who want to try and find out. I just offer an alternative value place for consideration. In fact many singaporeans know and engage his services. He also makes trips to singapore to meet his customers sometimes for customised and delivery services as well. Nextime if got chance you help me to shine my shoes i let u see for yourself the quality of the tailor's work.

Does he mean dual tone color, with black as the base color and gold as the hidden other color? So tat under the light, you can see the layered colors?

3.5k onwards. Time not sure. The black and gold theme is your corporate colors?

I would imagine a black 6 x 2 db jacket with gold blazer buttons embossed with the JW logo. Golden silk PS match with custom black repp tie golden stripes diagonally similar to how the label is on the JW bottle. Accessories also as what I mentioned earlier, onyx and gold is a good match.

Or you could use gold as the main color with black as the trimmings, at the risk of looking like stage performer or magician.

Just wanted to let you all know that Ambassador Tailor from BKK is coming to Singapore in Feb with samples and to take orders. Have written a review on them before - that was for female suit-making. My friend's husband has had no issues with them and has used them for years, and his wedding.

Hmm i guess you have been mistaken. I seldom tailor nowadays. Was there to accompany my gal shopping and out of boredom went to patronise tats all.

i like sze sze because ong got my measurements on the first attempt and does the sewing himself. but that's for pants and suits only.

but i must admit that for that price there are probably better options out there.
