Can I confirm that surround sound is only from HDMI, since there seems to be no coaxial digit audio out.? TQ

There is sound from all outputs including the red/yellow audio RCA ports, but I suppose the audio output to these ports will have already been downconverted for these ports.

I mean multi-channel (eg 5.1channel) from HDMI?
Obviously L-R audio output can only give stereo 2 channel sound.

i re-tested my draco and confirmed that my draco got sound for ALL. no mute streams.
5(HD) DVB-T2 got 3 audio streams: Sound 1 (Dolby D+), eng (AAC), Sound 3 (AAC).

u can goto Settings and set HDMI/Digital Audio Output: <PCM> or <BS Out>.

PCM - this means the draco stb will decode the audio and send to tv. since draco carries MDA's stereo-only label, so it can only support stereo audio. however, i tested that all 3 audio tracks can be decoded as stereo (no dolby), my tv got sound for all and show as "stereo".

BS Out - this means the draco stb will output raw audio (without decoding) to tv and let tv decode the audio. my sony bravia tv is able to decode all Dolby and AAC. tv will show "Dolby" or "Stereo" respectively.

because of this "BS Out" option, i think MDA has put the wrong label. draco stb should be Surround-Ready.

thanks for the info, does most tv able to decode HDMI raw audio? my three years old Sharp doesn't seem to be able to.

how to know which tv can decode digital audio by itself?

Yah... really seems to be some bug there in the firmware.
most of the china brand stbs have bug in their firmware, besides having the same problem as you,the other problem of muffled sound is more irritating than have to reselect audio stream for my stb :)

My next step of the matter will be in testing the recording feature of the DVB-T2 box on the USB thumbdrive. First using the NTFS file system and then using the FAT32 file system.

Since a 15-min recording takes up to 1GB for a HD channel, I reckon it will cross the 4GB threshold for FAT32 very soon, and hence it's probably better to use the NTFS system.

Later will probably be testing a USB harddrive on it, with more capacity than a typical thumbdrive.

Currently StarHub channel 154 is playing Channel 8 HD programmes but there is no audio and the frame rate is low.

The HD channels will be launched tomorrow on StarHub. The EPG has already been uploaded on StarHub's EPG.

most DVB-T tv should be able to decode AAC audio (since DVB-T also using same audio codec)... as for dolby support, u will need to check the tv spec.

looks like HD downscaled to SD. same quality as ch103... just the 8 logo got HD words.
the soft subs are truncated... same as draco stb. seems like the subtitles issue is caused by mediacorp's source.

I think the frame rate problem will be solved by tomorrow.

As for the subtitles issue, yeap it is also blur.

I think so. My living room TV supports 5.1 surround, so the reception of the HD channel from the DVB-T2 surround sound seems ok, in contrast with the other audio track which seems to be strictly 2.0 channel (presumably for dual language purposes).

Just received this set today. It was quite easy to setup. Get all the 7 S'pore channels. Try to scan for indonesia channels. Cannot get anything.

Then 1 hour later, the remote failed while scanning the EPG. Hopefully they can sent a replacement .
