The front usb3.0 cable not the only cable connected to 20pin USB3.0 header on motherboard?

Im not sure how are you gonna decipher havetobuy message, but should your usb 3.0 header comes with the usb2.0 header together, DO NOT plug both in. It will damage your ports.

My friend chose the casing based on looks bah. It's a very personalised part so I let him choose lo.

Sure based on looks? Among so many casing that appeals the most? Well I don't question buyers since it's their money but I've stayed away from CM casing unless it's extreme budget.

Wait what? From what I can see, the USB 3.0 front port has a single cable to it that ends with the 20-pin header. The other USB 2.0 header is for the USB 2.0 front port..?

Can you confirm your case is Elite 311 or Elite 311 Plus? Coz the Plus ver have the usb 3.0, and not the normal 311.

The 20-pin header that stems from the front port is meant to go to the motherboard right? Or PSU? whats motherboard psu lol.

It's definitely not the 311 Plus as it has only 2 ports in the front. One blue and one normal (usb 2.0). I specifically asked Yi Long at PC Themes if that case supports USB 3.0 before we purchased it...

Since it has 1 blue and 1 black, what cable does it have? Apart from the front i/o panel and front audio panel cables.

From the pic i found online for ur mobo, you should connect the usb3.0 header to the blue usb 3.0 port near to the 24-pin. And, the usb2.0 cable needs to be connected at the bottom of your mobo, find the usb2.0 port in ur manual.

Plz state if the cables for usb are seperated or together in 1 cable.

This is the casing, seems like a special version of the regular 311 with USB 3.0.

Cable wise, what I can rmb is there's one for the audio, one for the power button/HDD indicator light, 1 USB 2.0 header and 1 USB 3.0 (20pin) header. But i really can't recall if the USB 2.0 header and USB 3.0 header stems from a single cable or are seperated. I'm asking my friend now.

Are they using the same model though? Bringing the whole CPU down is a chore mate.. driving down and back isn't cheap either. I'n troubleshooting as much as I can. Will only bring down as a last resort...

Cooler Master Elite 311 Basic Blue Casing (With USB 3.0 & Window) | Ban Leong Technologies Limited

If it is seperate, then you can connect usb 3.0 cable to the usb3.0 port of ur mobo, and likewise for the usb2.0. If it is together, then only the usb3.0 header can be used, as the usb2.0 header that comes with it is designed to be plugged into mobos which dun have usb3.0 port.

But, like that, you cant use the usb2.0 port. CM design fail sia.
