Is anyone experiencing streaming problems with pptv app within VQTV recently? I used to watch certain China variety programmes in 高清 without any issues but having buffering every 5 secs or so nowadays.

Watching Korean drama with the same app will have long loading times though the situation is certainly not as bad as the one with the variety programmes described above.

Used to have a seamless, smooth connection watching these via pptv app within VQTV previously & my setup hasn't changed.

I'm staying in SengKang area if location matters.

Hi Rine5, maybe you can try the following.

settings > apps > look for pptv app > clear data

That will help to clear away the stored cache and data. :)

thanks.

Agenda is about the same as that one - both are geared towards beginners.

We've got enough past attendees to do an intermediate Synology workshop though, would anyone be interested in one for March?

BP CO seems to keep facing capacity issue. Wonder what IDA is going to say about this to OpenNet.

Hi andr3wyong,

Regarding the urgent VQ Fiber maintenance later @ 0300H-0500H is it islandwide or specific CO?

Time to test fail over and IPv6 re-connectivity :s13: :s22:

There is an urgent maintenance planned later in the morning from 0300H-0500H, not sure whether the urgent maintenance is to resolve all these.

So far, I'm not experiencing slowness in the stuff i do, maybe my load balancing has kicked in ;)

There will be intermittent connectivity affecting entire network, but I’m not expecting it* to last the entire 0300-0500h of course, just a handful of short downtimes.

Can still torrent or stream stuff probably, but definitely don’t game if you can’t afford to have your character lag out.

* just my opinion :p

IPv6 will go down with it too, but of course, will come back after.

Never encountered this issue. You may wish to force 802.11n 40MHz mode on your AP if it’s possible.

Then the devices which can’t connect are the slower g ones or those which are forced to 20MHz mode, and you'll have found the culprit?

Just tested on both of my iPad Airs to stream korean drama (需要浪漫3 Episodes) via PPTV iOS app. No lag nor buffer issue. Steaming started quickly as per normal days and in high resolution.

Need advise on using Zhone as wired Router and Asus for wireless access

Hi...so my viewquest is being setup (some issue with the Zhone router currently, VQ will be coming to check on this tomorrow).....I have a question and appreciate some expert advice...

My Zhone will be the main router where my house structured cable will be connected to (to different Room on the 2nd floor). On one of the Room on the 2nd floor I will be connecting the ASUS RT-AC66U which will provide wireless network on the 2nd floor. My question is on the ASUS RT-AC66U, should the network cable (from the Zhone on the first floor) be connected to the WAN (blue) or the LAN (Yellow) port? I am thinking that it should be the LAN port since the ZHONE is still the Router for the network.........am I correct?

I am doing a similar setup for my M1 fiber network now with an Engenius WIFI Router ESR9850 (via a Mikrotic Router connected to M1 Huawei Modem) and are wondering if it will be the same with Viewquest Zhone and ASUS router..

Hope I am clear....Thanks in advance...
