I personally felt Ozil played very badly. With 10men, he is suppose to help monreal in defensive but most times, he failed to track his player.

Actually, we may not have concede the 2nd goal if kos didn't move to forward trying to score a goal.

I think it depends on what Wenger's instructions were and did he follow them.

Whether to play deeper to protect monreal or stay further up to start of any counter.

But I'ld say he did not do a good job of defending even when behind the ball.

Yup. Probably annoyed at him. But ozil is his new godson. Looking more and more like a bad investment. Torres anyone?

The European ref are trash. I am sure man city would agree.

Too many times we been hard done by bad bad refereeing decisions in champions league.

Was hopeful for the team till the red card , after that I am resigned to fate. Now is back to priorities this sat with crucial home game. Expect to see giroud back. Ozil will probably be rested.

Another big fail.

Just like man city, cannot even defend a 1-0 loss at home. Return leg cannot even think of scoring a lucky 2-1 away goal win. Need to win 3-1 by away goals.

LOL first time I ever heard about defending a 1-0 loss at home.

If the team ever do that under instruction of Ah Seng, today will kena criticised left right and centre for showing no fighting spirit, for never trying to get back etc.

Playing at home, once you are behind, you try to get even at least.

LOL you expect Ozil to defend ?
He is just not capable of doing so.
It's not his nature to track back and try to tackle.

If he not capable, then sub him out. Heart attack watching him and monreal defending. I don't tthink Wenger dare to think to counter as we are still in it if it's 0-1 but is almost game over if 0-2 or more. So defend and not conceding more goals is priority so that's Why I think ozil is suppose to do more defending than attack. But he simply not interested to do that.

Want to attack also should make sure defence is adequately covered.

This is played over 2 legs and Arsenal are down with 10 men. If only lost 1-0, return leg still can score a last minute goal to win 2-1 by away goals. Happens a lot of time in champ league.

True if it's 11men vs 11men. Not the same if it's 10men vs 11men.

With ozil seems like a 10 men team. Ytd was practically 11 v 9. Knifes are out for ozil. Any goodwill from his assists in the beginning wiped out. Told u guys he is on his way to becoming a big flop

Ah Seng probably regretted starting with Cazorla instead of Poldi.

Once the red card was given, if Poldki was in the side, he would have taken out sanogo and op for a false 9 with Ozil.

If Poldi was playing on the left, he would have provided some cover for Monreal.
