Thought he said "couldn't care less".

Expected answer though. He needs to plan for next season's onslaught of the Championship title.

Rodgers was delighted with his side’s performance and said the goals were a testament to the hard work his players have put in.

“We were probably a little bit too deep in the first half; we gave too much space to their players that were a threat – Fraizer Campbell and Craig Bellamy did very well in the opening period of the game,” he is quoted on the club’s official website as saying.

“We lost the ball once or twice too cheaply. But we were still an offensive threat; at half-time we just shortened the pitch a bit more and reinforced our idea to dominate the ball. Obviously that led to our creation of chances.
“We showed great resilience today, mentally, and again showed our offensive power. We all stayed very focused and composed.

“It was an outstanding result for us. Some elements of our game were very good today, against a newly-promoted team, which are always difficult to play against.”

With eight games to go in the Premier League this season, Liverpool are four points behind leaders Chelsea, with the Blues still to come to Anfield on 27 April.

But Rodgers refused to be drawn into title talk, saying all the focus is on the Reds’ next game at home to Sunderland on Wednesday night.

“We’re focusing on the immediate future,” he added. “I’ve got to say I’m really looking forward to the Sunderland game. It feels like we haven’t played at home for ages. We had three games away on the spin and it was our fourth away win [in the league this year].

“Wednesday will be a great night for us. We’ve now got five games left at Anfield, with three away from home. Anfield is a special place to play football. So for us, it’s about the immediate future.

“That’s all we can focus on. The fans can believe and dream. And when you come to see your team play away from home and they score six goals, you’ve got every right to do that. They’ve been a big part of our success this year.”

The Uruguayan international equalled Robbie Fowler’s record of 28 Premier League goals in a season, and with eight games to go, looks set break Alan Shearer (1995/96) and Cristiano Ronaldo’s (2007/08) record of 31 goals in a season.

After scoring his hat-trick and Liverpool’s victory, Suarez spoke to Sky Sports’ TV cameras, and was humble in his achievement.

He said, “It may be [his best form of his career], but I try my hardest on the pitch to work hard for the team.

“We have a really good squad and when you create chances on the pitch, I think you’re going to score goals.
“The big teams like Chelsea and Manchester City still have the best chance of winning the Premier League, but we’ll keep going and concentrate on the next game.

“We know that it’s so difficult to win the title, but it’s better that we are concentrating on the next game — that’s the most important thing.”
