Hi hardware bros out there, hope you can help me with this.

I asking this on behalf for my friend. As stated in the tittle.

His current Rig spec is:

acer predafod g3610
acer p205H (1600x900@60HZ)
2048Mb Nividia Geforce Gt530
PSU 450W

So he wish to change his graphic card to MSI GXT 670, however I think the power supply is not enough and I not sure whether the graphic card will be bottle neck by the CPU. As he wanted to play Titanfall is I think is quite Graphic Intensive. However, is it possible to change? hope you guys can give me some comment before I ask him to buy.

Yes but an OEM power supply may not have additional pci connector for your GPU.

Yes enough. Usually gtx670 use about 170 w and come with molex PCI e splitter.

Better take a photo of your psu rating to double confirm.

Can't judge based on its total wattage only.

2 things to ponder:
1. Max continuous power output from PSU
2. Age of PSU

Aiya, at most buy another FSP 500W from $58... :D

CPU should be Core i7-2600 according to online specs...

Best if can post snapshot of the PSU specification sticker, then again his system shouldn't consume any north of 400W on full load....

MSI GTX 670 2GB Power Edition @ $379 (PC Themes if still available)

Zotac GTX 760 2GB AMP! Edition @ $364 is also a very good alternative.

Hi bro, how do you upload photos from phone. Cause he sent me through whatsapp. Is it only photobucket the only option?

Besides age and +12V rail, there is another factor: model and brand. A Seasonic X series can supply higher than its rated wattage without breaking a sweat, but it is not advisable for cheaper PSUs to run for long periods close to its maximum rated wattage.

Age will bring down the rated wattage, but there is no comprehensive study on the effect of cap aging (for secondary caps at least, Japanese vs Taiwanese). This is a question for the denizens of JG forums to cover.

On top of that, there is the issue of operating temperature. Every 10C brings down ~10% of the rated wattage (and at which temperature?). Higher end PSUs are rated at 40C or even 50C, while lower end ones are easily rated only at 30C. Of course, higher temperatures also bring down PSU efficiency, but that's another issue entirely.

Finally, there is the workload that TS runs. TDP can only be used for an estimation. If TS only runs lower end games, the card will never hit its TDP. On the other hand, if TS mines coins (doesn't make sense for a Nvidia card) or runs something heavy enough to reach or even exceed the TDP, and especially for significant periods of time...

Why can't TS just identify the brand and model? That would obviate the need for pictures.

No way.

Total 360W on two +12V rails? (I highly doubt that it is a bona fide multirail design).

Get a new PSU and keep this for office level PCs or a low end casual gaming machine.
