Don't know why Fellaini is considered poor by his earlier performance, not exactly man of the match but not the one who dragged the team down either.
Was hoping someone would say this but I guess only I would see it that way - we set our team out perfectly in the first half, with a change in approach in the second. Did anyone count the number of crosses by BM, considering they are supposed to be tiki-taka-kitkat the 2nd who doesn't play the ancient crossing game anymore? Here is what you get - when we pack the centre, they have no choice but to use the space on the flanks.
For all the brilliant defending as a team, we conceded the easiest of goals - cross, knockdown, late arrival by midfielder. The could've been cleared out before the knockdown - rather than blame Fellaini for not tracking the run, why not question where Jones the right back was? If he had tucked in... not that I'm pinning it on him, just saying.
Welbeck's goal was disallowed for handball I think, not high foot. Which of course was wrong. Thought it was a good choice to put him in front - neither RvP nor Rooney would have the same explosive pace to get ahead during counters, while Hernandez can't exactly take on defenders with the ball at his feet. But ohhhhhh that failed chip. Poor execution when it mattered.
When Buttner had to go off, I got reminded of JoS. Would've been nice to have someone like him the bench, available to put a decent shift in almost any position needed of him.
