eh, my ST Fibre 200mbps only can get 20mbps le, how come ah? :s8:

Some thing is really not right so just need to call 1688 to get support to go down to your home. It can be ONT or Router faulty. If you are using wireless then it will depend on your home layout, set up, how big is your home, router location and whether you have dual band router. For wireless really need a lot of knowledge and there are limitations to wi fi connection. To get ST dual band router you must sign up during major fair or during their promotion. For normal day when there is no promotion or no fair then must get 300Mbps to get dual band router. Always suggest signing up during major fair or promotion period or road show with promotion. Can always request for support staff to come down to do a check and change the ONT or Router. Even for wireless you can change the location of router, use a wifi extender and doing some changes with the advise of the support staff or can consider doing the wiring. For small HDB unit just need to make some changes will be able to resolve the issue. Just need the help of professional people. For ST Support, we can request to get someone a bit senior and really know what is networking to come to our home. There is always a solution and wiring up is the best. Most professional contractor can really do the wiring nicely just need to tell them loud and clear what you need and discuss with them before they start working on it. For wiring, getting a good quality Cat 6 LAN cable is best.

What you pay is what you get.

M1 gives Asus router while ST gives crappy routers (Aztech for now, it is better than Pace / 2Wire era)

There is a reason why ST never provide 1Gbps plan and some more being an Op-Co sia.

ST do not want to have 1Gbps for now.

So slow speed, if me I would cfcm already. For 100Mbps even wired also not so fast. At least must get 200Mbps. Soon recontract to 300Mbps and may be 2 yrs later go MR 1Gbps plan if MR improve a lot. Some 1Gbps users only getting 100Mbps Actual speed, wired.

what talking you?
so slow, but wired also not so fast?

get 200mbps, na, I hate the throttling. my old 100mbps without throttling still way faster, which is why I don't even bother upgrading to 300mbps yet.

1gbps get 100mbps means hardware issues.

I am trying to say 100Mbps plan is not fast enough. For 100Mbps plan even wired is only ~ 100Mbps but for 200Mbps and 300Mbps plan if u wired u can get ~200Mbps and more. For most people at least need 200Mbps plan. For downloading, can always use a vpn and 3rd party download manager to download.

That's what I was thinking. Every weekend I went to my father's home to use M1 and look fine. But one day I notice that the ONT and router led light all ok but when I connect using cable, there is no network. Use wi fi also can not connect at all. Switch off and on the ONT and router to reset also no network. I have been testing it for more than 3 mths. Some china sites also got problem. Till now his network still down, more than 2 weeks. My father said will cancel after contract end.

To be fair, we have to compare an apple with an apple. ST support can check your network, change ONT, Router, update router's filmware and even arrange for wiring ($80 for 35 feet not Metre) and advise on wireless networking. I think ST support is ok and network is stable.
