Correct me if i'm wrong.

For those who wants to record/keep track on their full activities, like communication, gaming, movies, music...and all those Lifelogs activities on you mobile, you need to bring along both mobile and Smartband.

For those who wants only number steps, calories, sleep, think you only need to bring your Smartband, that all.

As for me, I personally felt that the Smartband is a good use for me.
I activated the notification vibration for all my messages, WhatsApp, email and calls, and i can put my phone to silent mode, or even in my pocket at a noisy environment, I'll since get vibrate notification...very good for me which i go outdoor most of the time.

yes correct the dvice doesnt have GPS it can only count your steps , not the location

oh... I use 3rd party apps for my running routine, which requires GPS to log the route. hmm so the smart band can still log accurate distance without GPS? I'm quite skeptical...

no device can accuretly mesaure steps i guess its just the distance is what logged correctly using GPS , so the smart band would basically use the sensor to clock your step count ,
