but anyone who own both expensive IEM and this sony earpiece can make a short review?

as in they say the new michael jackson soon to be released are tune for the headphone, how good the earphone really is?

what's good for me may not be good for everyone, earphone is a very subjective item, others like very heavy bass, but I hate it.

suggest those who like to purchase, load your Z2 with all your favorite tracks, and test it at the store.

I purchased it for noise cancellation purpose, I tested it on a long haul flight, the earphone is lightweight enough to wear to sleep, and the noise cancellation of engine noise is about 90%. For the price and comfort, I would say this is a good buy.

tested in office, the noise cancellation is so good that I can't hear the office phone rings in front of me when the music is playing lol

I used the noise cancelling headphones while watching a movie on the tablet Z2 on a Jetstar flight... Really works well. On the Z2 phone, I used it on the MRT. So nice not to need to increase volume just to hear your music clearly, and it did a good job blocking out the bloody noisy sec school girls jabbering and 10,000 "OMG! OMG! Really? OMG! Really?"

did you manage to resolve the issue yourself or send for repair?

doing a reboot with power + vol up solved the problem for me but the problems will resurface once i plug in (usb) to charge.

I can power the phone back up and use it almost normally except for all sorts of weird behaviours while charging. Exchanged the phone for the gap issue.

Woah where did you go/what did you say to get an exchange? I went to Sony on three separate occasions to try to get an exchange but no luck. I emailesd them too and they said it's 'within manufacturing specifications'.

this show that Sony have no confidence in future manufacturing issue, any problem of the phone will fall in this 'within manufacturing specifications'. Really need to consider more before buying Sony phone in future, they got a very low manufacturing standard.

they probably just say that to absolve from all responsibilities; the gap is very bad. on my white Z2 a lot of dust has already built up in both front and back bezels and i don't even put it in my pocket that much (usually hold in hand or put on office table).

oh yeah, can we consider the Z2 a 'lemon' and demand remedy?

Consider the Z2 a lemon because it collects dust on its bezels? From a lay perspective, I don't think that is sufficient to consider your device a lemon, however 'ugly' the so called gap might be.

No, because cosmetic issues do not impair the functionality. If it dies on it's own after a week, it would be a "lemon".

oh man... since i can't get it exchanged, does anyone have tips on how to clean out dust from the gaps?

my back panel is slightly shifted to the top right, creating a gap along half of the perimeter. the dust that got inside very hard to reach :(

got a little hopeful cause of this http://www.case.org.sg/downloads/central/Lemon Law FAQs.pdf

“Satisfactory Quality” includes their state and condition, as well as
the following aspects:
(a) fitness for all the purposes for which goods of the kind in
question are commonly supplied;
(b) appearance and finish;
(c) freedom from minor defects;

Normal longer ringing?
Means what?

Ehh few pages back I asked n some bros said is my settings issue, but I can't find e settings to adjust.

Cos now my phone only ring like 10-15s? Too short to even hear my custom ringtone...

Is it up to the telco to decide? Last I rmb, other phones can ring a few min then divert to voicemail... BT I changed telco lab... So not very sure...

my Z2 is at service centre now for repair >< if i remember correctly, for the back, the (transparent) glass is a little bit bigger than the area that is coloured. the dust got into the gaps and lodged under the transparent outer perimeter. can see but cannot reach to remove :(
