i don't think you can purchase the official wall mount since it can only be done upon request via Apple store online :/

Isn't it a standard VESA wall mount? You'll need the Apple wall mounting kit for the iMac so you are able to remove the desk stand and install the wall mounting kit onto the iMac.

Then mount the iMac onto the wall as you would any other TV.

Bear in mind that this VESA mount kit is only applicable for iMacs from 2009-2011, the 2012 iMacs onward do not have removable hinges. They need to be ordered with a VESA mount from AOS.

Ah yes, I hadn't realised the 2012 and later iMacs could no longer be converted. Thank you for this.

iMac (Late 2012 and later): VESA mount compatibility
Learn more about VESA mount compatibility with iMac (Late 2012 and later) computers.

iMac 21.5-inch and 27-inch, (Late 2012 and later) computers can be configured to order with a built-in VESA mount adapter when ordering via the Apple Online Store. The iMac with built-in VESA mount adapter lets you attach your iMac to a VESA-compliant mounting solution, such as an articulating arm or wall mount (sold separately).

Additional Information

VESA mount adapter upgrade kits are not available for iMacs with a stand. When an iMac is ordered with the built-in VESA mount adapter, the stand on the iMac is replaced with a VESA mount adapter and the iMac cannot be used with the standard iMac stand.
