bmobile & econnect with iPhone 5S iOS 7.1.1

Just to share with you as I am going to Hokkaido in May...

I emailed both to ask as if their prepaid nano Sims would work with my iPhone 5S iOS 7.1.1 model A1530 purchased in Singapore.

bmobile said no - not supported.

e-connect confirmed that their nano Sim would work.

I read that e-connect resells the bmobile regular prepaid Sim so I don't know why b-mobile said their Sim card would not work with my phone.

Not supported or they cannot confirm if supported?

Ipad mini RD with ios 7.0.4 also not in the supported list, i emailed them they say cant confirm, but i can use bmobile with no issues at all.

They referred me to the list of supported devices on their website, then said that as my device is not listed, they are unable to guarantee the compatibility with the sim card.

Hi all,

I'm confused. My colleagues told me to rent the wifi device instead of getting the SIM card, as it will be safer n run into compatibility issues. Is this true?

Sharing my experience with the 1gb:

Most, if not all modern smartphone will be able to use. just be very sure to order the correct sim type. i use HTC one mini which is not stated in their website but can connect w/o any problem. you need to manually input settings but it's nothing complicated. there's a guide inside the package.

i got it sent to my hotel w/o informing them, but have no problem getting it when i check in. i was worried about the 1gb but after using few days, i just surf as per normal. i use google map to navigate all places i want to go, surf fb, surf net. at the end of 14 days, my data usage is only around 400mb. i can get 4g most of the time and find the speed faster than our network here.

i travel alone so unless a few are sharing the internet connection, this prepaid 1gb suffice.

actually as long as your mobilephone is not sim lock and their network same as ours it definitely can work(ofcause must buy the correct normal/micro/mini sim card)

in order to use the internet you just need to input in the correct APN setting

hi guys

whats the difference between the u300 sim and the 1gb tourist sim from bmobile?

if need to activate the u300 sim can I confirm if my translation of the procedure is correct as below for this webpage?

http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/personal/activate/en.html

1) Open sim card package and insert sim in the phone
2) dial the following number 186-03-5677-1237 for 24x7
or (186-0120-915-886) for office hours using a public telephone
3) Enter the whole sim card no at the back begining with 090,080
4) Enter the APN Setting
APN: dm.jplat.net
Username: bmobile @ u300
Password: bmobile
If it is CHAP ※ can be set or PAP: authentication type
If you need to set IP ※: PDP type
