Not quite free
His loan fee was a reported £1.5m – a figure that will be deducted when a tribunal sets his final transfer value should he join a Premier League club this summer. Blackpool are due compensation because Ince is still aged under 23, although they would have been entitled to significantly less had he chosen to move to an overseas club.
Newcastle, Hull, Swansea, Stoke and Sunderland are all believed to be interested in signing a player who started his career in Liverpool’s youth team ...."
Tom left Liverpool because he wanted to play football. He won't come back to sit on the bench. Don't think he'd good enough to start. The boat has left for Tom. Besides I rather the youngster already here be given the opportunities.
You see what you quoted is word for word what the media wrote except the last part. It isn't wrong. Blackpool has yet to officially release him and is holding on hoping for some form of compensation at least.
What the Media said is true if he joins any club now because he is still officially contracted till 30th June, not a free agent yet. Any Clubs who signs now must pay Blackpool Compensation. Foreign Clubs lesser, English Clubs more. BUT If he waits out his contract, After 1st or 9th July, he is a Free Agent will be released by Blackpool when contract ends. By then, he can join anywhere he deems fit and Clubs does not need to pay any compensation. Works the same for all or most players under last year of contract on any opening of transfer window for soon to be released players Under 23, but if over 23, there shouldn't be any compensation fees if it's the last 1 month before contract ends.
I don't really fancy him But he is a good young option to increase our squad depth. He did ok for Palace and is definitely EPL squad material, not championship.
