Hello all, i have signed up for singnet 500mbps, direct connection to my computer works fine but i am still having buffer loads on 1080 youtube and facebook HD.... downloading etc is fine, and my laptop wifi have frequent jumps of lagtency from 5ms to a sudden 60-80ms for a 3-4 sec with packet losses while playing game, my laptop is just directly behind my modem.

can anyone teach me or advise me what to buy or setup, like do i need to get a router etc, very noob in this area, i wanna maximise the speed.

current setup is singnet aztech 7002ds model, it has 3 ports, 1 direct connection to PC, 1 direct connection to MIOtv and 1 direct connection to ps4, have 1 laptop on wifi 5g (which have frequent jumps), ipad on wifi 5g(can't watch 1080 on youtube at all, it will just keep buffer) 2 phones on wifi too..

please advise thank you!!

The effective range for WiFi using 5 Ghz is shorter than 2.4 Ghz.

Call Singtel customer services so that they can get the engineer to come down and take a look

The wifi card in your XG15 is an Intel AC 3160. Are you on the latest 17.0.x drivers? (latest is 17.0.5 which I just installed myself for my 7260, but the previous 17.0.3 is quite stable). Some of the earlier Intel driver versions have all kinds of disconnect or performance problems.

Should get ST support to go down to check.

I doubt ST support could help much since wired connection is OK.

The issue is with WIFI setup, more inclined to say it's the laptop since its only 2m away from router and previous laptop has no issue.

TS, have you tried upgrading the driver for the WIFI card as suggested? Anyway, since it's only 2m away, just use cable in the meantime :) Also try testing your laptop in another WIFI network and compare the results.

Possible that it is the wifi card. The problem with ST is the router and even AC router wifi also can get screwed up.
