For some strange reason what i watch the World Cup on BBC/ITV it always seems to be buffering and starts and stops. The same issues can be seen on ITV as well. Is there an issue with the feed? Even if i try to watch after the game the download speed is horrible.

Also when i stream NBA TV on my apple tv or roku it seems to take much longer to load compared to when I watch off my computer. Would you be able to advise this is the case?

I have no problems with HULU/Netflix/Amazon TV.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi nebbish,

Can you PM me your NRIC? Will get our guys to check on this and contact you back ASAP! :)

Anyone using the Baidu Cloud Storage (百度云盘)? How is the download speed like? I'm using DownloadThemAll Firefox extension. And not getting a good speed, only ~180KBps (that's kilo Bytes per sec) download with 10 parallel streams.

Could this be a cap by Baidu or something else?

Also, is this the best routing we can get to China, via Freedom VPN?

Seems that the access via SH (203.117.164.101) has better latency.

My VQ speed is 300mbps.

Thanks

19MB/s, 10 segments download. Wireless AC. 300 MBps plan.

Hi guys, just jumped over from MR to VQ. I'm a network noob and can't find a FAQ on the zhone router. Can anyone share with me some links or their 'optimized' settings(wired and wireless) so I can tinker around. If you need speedtest results or any other info do let me know, will try to get tonight.

Sorry for the late reply.

Do contact noc@viewqwest.com and they can make the relevant tweaks that might improve performance.

However due to interference and congestion of the 2.4GHz band, some performance boosts such as enabling 20/40MHz wide channels mode will not have any effect.

ASUS RT-AC56S

Just gotten the ASUS RT-AC56S for a spin :D

It's not for retail (ISP mid end model) although it's specs are lower than the other ASUS retail SKUs. (i.e sporting BCM4708v1 800MHz single core, 128MB RAM and 128MB Flash)

Nevertheless it's not losing out to the other ISPs routers at the very least :s13:

Together with VQ collaboration with their 1Gbps symmetrical, seeing is believing  :s13:

That's for now, i will have a separate thread on dissecting, various performance indicators etc.

Of cos, VQ only uses ASUS flagship routers :D

No worries but I thought the tweaks and optimizing will be on user end but OK will email as you said.

sorry bro, don't want to mislead you, that screen was captured few weeks ago. just now tested again, it is very very slow, about 300KB/s with 10 segments :(
If you guys can open a ticket with NOC and provide the traceroute that would be great, can see if any routing optimization can be done.
