because i read it may damage the component / void the warranty.
why buy b85 sua?

Coz u wun be overclock much, might as well save the money...

OC wun void warranty, only when you burn ur chip. But, only way to do that is to crank volt till super high, 1.4V and above.

There is a reason why some mobos are designed to overclock?

You are better off stating a budget and ownself diy. Sone of their specs are unknown or lousy models, like for hdd or psu.

You get better value doing it urself.
problem is i dont know how to assemble the parts together. software i can ownself do, hardware is erm.... :(

if i get everything from the same shop will they assemble for me foc?

new to DIY PC

Hi guys,

I'm still new to DIY PC. My laptop is starting to lag lately and I'm thinking of getting a new PC instead. I hope to get your recommendations about the parts. I have looked at multiple tutorials on how to assemble one but haven't read much about how to choose the parts.
My purpose for the PC will be for surfing the net, gaming and watching 1080p videos. I play a lot of dota 2 and other shooters occasionally. I would like to play dota 2, Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and Evolve on max settings when it's released.
I do not want to overclock and do not need any peripherals or monitor, but i do need an OS.
I interested in getting the RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case because of its looks. Please advise on this decision.
Lastly, my budget is around 1.5k to 1.7k. Will add in a bit more if required.

Thank you so much!

Hi guys, I need to buy a system for 3D building/architectural rendering. Recommended specs are i7-3770 or higher, GTX 660 or higher, 8GB RAM or more, SSD, 1Gb LAN. I'll probably be buying from my usual shop, Tradepac, and get them to assemble for me. Budget is not fixed, just want something comfortably better than the recommended specs, highly reliable, and power-saving when idling.

Stability and reliability are very important so I don't think I should overclock. I'm thinking of getting an i7-4771. For mobo, I'm thinking of going for a B85 or H87 mobo instead of the Z87. Can I get a B85 mobo, since the H87's caching isn't very useful for me? What mobo do you guys recommend? I would like good, reliable components, but can't really tell which boards are good from my research.

Will this work?:

Intel Core i7 4771 & Gigabyte H87-D3H / B85M-D3H / ASRock B85 Killer ~ $?
G.Skill DDR3-1600MHz 8GB (2X4GB) ~ $77
Gigabyte R9 280X 3GB Winforce OC ~ $449 or Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB Winforce OC ~ $409
Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme 256GB or Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256GB or OCZ Vector 150 240GB
Samsung SATA 24X DVD Rewriter ~ $24
Superflower HX 600 ~ $110
Ikonik EN2 ~ $55

Can the PSU handle the i7-4771? No problem right?

Thanks bros!

thanks for the reply, much appreciated. i was thinking of the followings

reduce ram to 4gb, save $54
reduce hdd to 1tb, save $36
casing will cost at most $50, so i save another $10

with the $100 savings, can i get a decent graphic card, or rather do i really need a graphic card judging from my usage?

You can do those. $100 cannot get decent graphic card. Depends on what you play.
