read about the reviews on both Korea Air and Asiana and figured that Asiana may edge out Korea Air by a little. I wanted to book Asiana direct but it seems like they only have us.flyasiana.com, no asian website
Any1 knows? Coz many 3rd party websites will require to pay service fee etc...

Book via :
Direct Asiana website - https://ea.flyasiana.com/
(Choose South-east Asia)- English

Also try below :
Cheap flights - Skyscanner.com.sg‎
Cheap Flights Online - cheapflights.com.sg‎

Zuji.com.sg
www.wego.com.sg/

Korea Air can book on their own website ... compare, both about the same. Even Asiana is a 5 stars airline, the services and food sometime heard not so good. Depend on which group of crew member serve when on board.

KE is better than OZ on the sin to icn route, plane wise.

Oz uses old planes and entertainment tv for economy but ke has new on-demand tv.

Food n service n seats are about the same.

U can buy oz tickets on expedia, travelocity, orbitz, kayak.
Hipmunk lets u search as well.

OZ = Asiana
KE = Korean

Perfer KE flight too..... the airplae use for KE are B777 compare A330 ... sleepery for night flight .....

For those who want to fly direct to Seoul from Singapore in economy, I would suggest either Korean Air or Asiana.

KE and OZ have very spacious legroom (33-34") for all economy seats.
SQ only has 32" seats.
The 2 inch difference might not seem big but it makes a lot of difference on longer flights.

KE inflight entertainment is better than OZ(which uses the old system).
For this and next month, suggest watching the Korean movie "The Suspect" if u like action films.

On KE, if u like salmon, u can preorder Seafood meal.
Usually give u salmon fillet and pasta.
U get served first as well before the normal meal service.

Enjoy your flights!

What do u mean by OZ uses old system? They don't provide individual entertainment screen to each passager?
I will be very disappointed if there is only one big TV screen shared by all passagers.
Btw, i am flying Asiana later this month.

Each seat has own screen but smaller in size n not on demand.
Limited selection of movies n tv.

Some oz planes have larger screens n are on demand.

Did a little research on OZ and there are two flights per day.
One around 10.40pm and other at 1.45am from SIN to ICN.

The 1.45am flight uses old seats and IFE(inflight entertainment).
The 10.40pm flight uses new seats and IFE.

Try and get on the 10.40pm flight OZ751 if u can

Its depend on the aircraft fitting. Some with individual but some sharing a Big one.

Have a try on OZ .... its a 5 stars vs KE ..... OZ is more recommend for long route to EU, US. Enjoy your flight.

Mine is the 10.40pm flight. A330. Will reach Seoul at around 6.00 am.
I have problem sleeping in the plane. Hence, i need the TV to help me to endure the 7 hours flight.

Me and my wife always fly on OZ, our favourite airline over SQ. :)
Their planes maybe older and not as good in terms of in flight entertainment, but the service makes up for it with more leg rooms.

Whoa. This has to be one of the few times I see people recommend another asian carrier over SQ on regional routes esp in Y. I personally haven't tried KE or OZ, but apparently my friend always travels on KE on his trips to korea, primarily because it's cheaper than SQ most of the time. He paid $900+ for his return ticket on KE, while I almost paid $1.2k for SQ. Lucky for me I grabbed another friend to go with me to korea on the 2-to-go promotion that just ended. $650+ per pax for end-Dec to mid-Jan trip.

If price wasn't a concern, I would think SQ Y is still better than most other respectable asian airlines (e.g. CX, JL, NH, TG, KE, OZ, MH). I like the food selection (they actually serve food that's nice to eat), the selection of on-demand music and video, and the excellent service from staff. I actually feel pampered even on Y, if you ask for something reasonable, the crew would often surpass your expectations.

I once asked for a night snack when I couldn't sleep on a red eye flight back from the US. The steward offered biscuits, but I wasn't really into biscuits at the time, so I asked if there was something else. He said he'd check. After 5 mins, he came back with some freshly heated Krispy Kreme donuts (typically only available on J class flights from the US) on a white plate and with utensils (the kind J class uses) and set my tray table like they do in J during meals. He also passed me 2 bottles of water, a cup of warm milk and a can of tomato juice. I was really pleasantly surprised. I highly doubt he was aware of my KF status (which was Gold), as I flew in Y. We had a little chat just to pass some time after which he went on his way to attend to another passenger.

There are many other little things the crew have done for me over flights I've flown with SQ. These make the flight a lot more memorable and I daresay SQ remains one of the best choice for flying in Y.
