i booked my honeymoon trip with EU holidays at NATAS fair. Got the 13 days Italy/Switzerland/Paris package + free 2nights at Dubai on the transit back.

Will fly on the 23 Dec 14 and via Emirates. Anyone traveling in the same period?

Anyone have any review about EU holidays and Emirates as i have never tried them before and from what i have read so far, the reviews are kinda mixed feelings.

Thanks.

I am travelling with them as well with the same package on 10 Dec 14.

I'm curious. What will you do or what's your backup plans if his experience is 'bad' and 'screwed up'.

There are a couple of things i'm looking out for.

Weather condition. If it is getting way too cold at Switzerland
Tour Leader capabilities. If he/she is looking after the tour members attentively.
Attraction. If some of the attraction is wasting too much time, and if that is the case we can have some form of discussion with all the members of the tour and see if they can bring us somewhere else.
Lodging. If the place is clean and good.

Actually i'm hoping for a slightly negative review than a review that speaks of heaven. In that way, expectation will be lower.

So it's just your expectations will be lowered. No other backups?

It will definitely be too cold in Switzerland in Dec. I have a close friend living in Geneva so I get the updates on the weather from her via FB :s13:

Too cold? It's just a matter of wearing the right clothes, e.g. layering up with wool-like material, and a good wind breaker over a good jacket. That will be good enough for all except the most severe weather.

Well that's the problem with tour packages; for me, too many variables outside my control: tour group, tour guide, crappy boring hotels, "chinese" food, etc. Basially if you are unlucky and the tour sucks, you are screwed, and you've just wasted good money. Worst part? You can't do much about it.

I much prefer F&E where it's not only cheaper but almost everything is within your control. The flexibility is great too.

This year, we went on a 10 day F&E (of course!!!) trip to California. All in, under SGD 8k for two persons. Includes air-fare on SQ, car rental, petrol, accommodation, and all meals. Went to SF and two national parks, and two designer outlets as well!

Driving in the USA is so easy. Even though it is on the other side of the road. Wonder why so few sinkies do it.
