Agreed. Switched from Z1 to Z3 compact. Its almost impossible to reply to message on phone with 1 kids on hands with Z1.

I have 2 kids & both love taking selfies so yes, this phone would come in very handy as compared to my old Note II.

It's not much of a big issue for me especially i started off with Iphone 4 before switching to Samsung S3 then Sony Z1 and now Z3 compact. I would say subconsciously i am much comfortable with phone smaller than 5" .

Are you sure there are $2 magnetic charging cables? Most of the cables I've seen so far cost ~$15.
As a cable user here, it charges slower than via the USB port it sometimes does not get a full charge overnight if I sleep late & charge for ~4 hours.
You get cheap magnetic cables i think it will be worst. One time investment might as well pay more for a higher quality cable.

I don't think so. The pins should match but the thickness and bezel size might need to be compensated. All of them look similar though.

Z3 and Z3C uses Magnetic Charging Dock DK48

Z2 uses Magnetic Charging Dock DK36

Z1 uses Magnetic Charging Dock DK32

Z1 uses Magnetic Charging Dock DK31

Go to 313@Somerset Sony store. I saw some z3 compact normal protector on the cheap.

The phone can scroll in how many directions? Can scroll left all the way to the home screen or it will stop and you have scroll to the right?

I was considering that but I love how the dock is useful for me to watch videos on my Xperia Z.

I do know that the Z3/C dock is backwards compatible with Z1C, but unsure if other docks can fit Z3/C or Z1.

Just purchased my phone yesterday and took it out today. Personally, I think this phone is just great. Battery life is significantly better comparing the Z3C and my previous iPhone 5S. All these while, I have been running 3G on my iPhone 5S most of the time to keep the battery in check, but the Z3C is on 70% now after using it to surf net pretty heavily.

Accessories wise, it is quite a bit of pain to find. Till now I have not purchased any cover for it since only Sony store sells a very limited range. Not willing to shell out 40 to 50 bucks for a plastic case. The Krussel ones are too fat.

For those looking to disassemble the z3 dk48 dock thinking that inside is a usb cable, you are wrong. Inside is circuit board with wires linking the usb and the magnetic part.
