I try to be in Bkk every month over a weekend. The management fee (it is called annual fee) is paid 1 year in advance (usually in Dec). Paid all cash no loan tho' you may try UOB or Bangkok Bank in SG. If your GF is put on the chanote as co-owner, you can try getting a loan from a Thai bank using her job/income status. If you are the sole owner, then it is impossible for u to get a loan from a thai bank unless you have a work permit ie working in TH.

What you can buy depends on your savings and needs. It is like buying a condo in Orchard Rd vs a condo in Woodlands. I bought in a very prime area where prices have gone up by 30% since. I like the convenience of living in such an area and the unintended prestige (the Thais will be more impressed if they know you live in a prime area, not that I care particularly).

However, if your budget is not generous, then you may look at the higher Sukhumvit area (Phra Kanong upwards) or along the existing/future BTS lines.

One thing to note, if you buy a cheap condo or apartment, your neighbours may not be so nice so you may get noise disturbance in the middle of the night etc.

So decide on the place(s) you like and have a walk around or take a motosai. If it is an existing condo, go and see the juristic office (it operates Mon to Sat half-day). It would have a list of units in that condo for sale and rent and it can put u in touch with its sales team.

Or you can search online on prakard or DDProperty.

Last, if u are putting it solely in your name, pls check with the juristic if the foreign quota is still available.

Non-Thais can own a condo outright, provided >= 51% of the saleable space is owned by Thais. Some foreign individuals get around this local ownership restriction (land, house, condo etc) by using a Thai-owned & incorporated company (but "controlled" by the foreigner - see all the gorgeous villas in Phuket!

Upz for pegasus bro for his detailed explanation of the buying condo in bkk information.

for me however, i would rather buy landed house in thailand. just got myself a 4million baht House at On-Nut Suvarnabhumi area , which is less than 200k SGD..... but the price of this is I gave up my BTO at Boon Keng (465K SGD) for this house which will be my retirement home already

i will highly recommend those who have thai teerak/faen/wife to settle down in bkk rather than singapore if anyway possible.

PS: I am married to a thai lady with 2 sons , because only thais can buy land
